Rotate images
Do images have to be rotated before they are placed in an image slide show, or is there a way to rotate them once in the slideshow?

Actually, it looks like that is not the problem but rather, the images are being rotated to the wrong position when imported to Proclaim. How do I prevent this? I am sorry to say, but this is fairly urgent because I have 24 images and several of them are being wrongly rotated.
Here is an example. I add this image to a slideshow and it rotates it 90 degrees counterclockwise:
Even here it is rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise but on my computer it is correct. What gives?

Hey Bob, last time I heard this, after syncing the presentation, the images were rotated correctly. If you have already synced and they are still sideways, could you post a screenshot, and the name of the presentation? Then I can take a look and see what I find.

OK, I'll try adding a few that I know were imported wrong ( had deleted them all), and then I'll get back to you.

OK, Here is the screenshot and you should be able to see that both of the two slides I imported are still rotated wrong after syncing. The title of the Presentation is simply "Sunday, March 13, 2016.

Alright, so that image is rotated but Microsoft and Apple are accounting for it.
Here is your image, notice the orientation.
Here is one from my camera that is not rotated:
So Proclaim should be doing the same but it isn't appearing to. Instead it is just showing it at whatever rotation it says it is.
I fixed that one and adding to your slideshow. I used Preview on Mac to rotate it. I believe there is something similar for you on Windows.

So are you saying I need to rotate those 90 degrees clockwise within MS Windows and that should fix it? I do know how to do that.

Correct. My default viewer for Windows 10 is the "Photos" app. Right click + Rotate did the trick for me.

Thanks, do you happen to know if there is a way to get Windows to show the photos in the orientation they were taken? For the thumbnails in File Explorer they are showing upright, even the ones that are probably rotated.

I just tried that, but they still come out rotated as before in Proclaim. What do I do now?

I'm not sure of a way and I remember being frustrated by this in the past (Having nothing to do with Proclaim)

Alright you should be good to go! I will definitely look into having Proclaim behave the way Windows explorer is. Having sideways images is no fun

Also, on the various portrait images, you can use the new background alignment options to make the image fill the slide. This may look better on screen then having all the black on the sides.

Thanks for your help! I have thought about filling with the images, but will have to look and see.
I shudder to ask, but I had uploaded 11 more photos and just noticed that they didn't get there. So, I uploaded them again. Now they are all there. Unfortunately, there are two of them with the same rotation issue. Any chance you could fix those? I would if I could figure out how to, but I don't seem to be able to.

Whoops, I tried to do it so fast, I closed Proclaim before it completed the upload. I just let it finish. You should see them now

I see them now. Thanks very much for your help. When all the photos were not uploaded for me the other day, I think it was something similar. I started uploads of two small groups of photos before the first one was completed and neither one of them got there.

I tried rotating the images in Microsoft Photos (Windows 10) before importing into Proclaim and my vertical images still appear horizontal no matter which way I rotate them. I rotated to all 4 positions they could be in and it still imports in the same horizontal position. Is there solution for this?

The only thing I found to work was to open the image in Paint and if it is oriented properly then save it to a new name and then import into Proclaim. If not oriented properly, then I rotated it and then saved to a new name before importing to Proclaim.
