M'Cheyne Reading Plan on Android App

Hi,

I've spent quite a while trying to achieve the above, but can't seem to achieve it.

I've found this:

But its not clear to me where this should go. I've been trying to create a new reading plan and edit an existing, both on the app and on the free Windows software.

Is this a feature in the paid for version?

I'm basically after a 1-year bible reading plan but not the default one Logos provide. Are you able to help?

The M'Cheyne is one of a few "default" plans, and there is no need to recreate it... I think.

For clarification: I don't know if the term "paid version" is right. The software is always free. What users pay for are 1) resources (i.e. books, journals, videos, media) and 2) datasets (underlying data which makes certain features work). If creating a M'Cheyne reading plan requires a purchase, I am unaware of it, but I guess it could be a "dataset."

I am not sure what you mean by "where this should go." Did you mean your thread or the reading plan string?

The mobile app is more for document and resource consumption, rather than creation. You can create basic reading plans on mobile, but you can't edit the reading plan document. This thread should probably be moved to the Logos 6 (PC/Mac) forum.

To create a reading plan on the desktop, open "documents" and click "reading plan" on the left hand side. A new reading plan document will be created. Click "choose a predefined reading plan" and scroll to the M'Cheyne plan. NOTE: purists (I'm not) will tell you that the M'Cheyne plan is meant to be tied to the calendar with specific readings for each day of the year. If you want to start the plan and have the specific readings for "April 9th" (today), we can walk you through that as well.

Hi Alabama,

This is proving frustrating but I'm determined. Have managed with your help to start M'Cheyne reading plan, but cannot change the date from Jan 1st. Even though I click on the date when setting it up and change to today's date.

Have seen your note:

The plan is tied to the calendar. Each reading is supposed to be on a given day... You should be able to fake it out by creating the plan, then right clicking on today's date and selecting "adjust plan from here."

But even if I choose 1 Jan 2017 the plan finishes immediately.

I'm not sure where I can right click today's date as per your guidance above.

I just have a second here, but hopefully I tell you this clearly & correctly.

Create the plan as normal, which <should> start the plan on January 1st. If you want to read the January first reading as today's reading, click on todays date in the calendar view and select "adjust plan from here." That will cause the January reading to move to today (see screen shot). Alternatively, you might want to skip the January 1 - April 8th readings and start the April 9th reading today. If so, right click and use the "catch up" button.

The problem is I don't get that view because the plan gets completed immediately.

I start the plan and it appears in my sidebar as "Reading Plan Finished"

In fact any Bible reading plan immediately finishes. Do I need to download the bible I want to use? I'd like to do it with ESV. How do I go about that?

It doesn't help that M'Cheyne isn't available to add on Android. I'm just hoping I can get it working on PC then use it on android with same login.

Thank you. This is what I needed. But I can't understand why I get esv free on my phone but not on the PC. And also why I get M'Cheyne on my PC and not on my phone!

Anyway to make this work I think I'll need to purchase esv for pc. But I have the study Bible which I think should make the downloadable version free...

Simply because you don't own it. The mobile app has a number of "free to use online only" resources. You can purchase the ESV for a nominal fee, or purchase and use one of the "free" translations.
