Change language settings
I'm using a French Android phone and my Logos application is in French. Is there a way to change the display to English ?
I see in Google Play that I can download a Spanish version. Is there an English one? Thanks

Hi Janick,
The logos mobile app defaults to the language of your device, however you can switch it to English by entering the command " set language en".
Let me know if you experience any issues.

Hi Thomas,
That sounds like a great feature. I don't find where to enter commands though. Has the feature made it to the latest live version yet, or is it maybe only in beta phase?

To my knowledge this is only available in the iOS apps and I think Thomas (rightly) expected this to also be available on Android as well, but it isn't yet. I will write up a case about enabling this feature in the Android apps.
In the iOS apps, the search field at the top of the Home Page can be used to enter commands like "set language en" or "set language de", etc. to change the app locale; a restart of the app is required to make the change take effect.0 -

A friend of mine who had his phone in German was really upset because the Dictionary lookups on Hebrew words didn't work! The app was looking for a German dictionary, amazingly, instead of his top rated Lexicon (which in this case was HALOT). He had to change the language of his phone to English to make the Verbum app work at all for reading the Hebrew Bible!

Please create a new post and/or UserVoice suggestion if you wish to see this added to the Settings menu.

Lexicon lookups are unrelated to this thread. Please create a new post.

I'm sorry your friend was upset, but (again) please create a new post for this issue. Thanks!

Just an FYI - I was unaware that the "set language <xx>" feature was for internal use only but it's now out of the bag. It's unsupported and your mileage may vary - some strings might not be properly localized after using it.

If you go into the system settings (not Logos settings) and go to apps, then go to Logos Bible, you can scroll down to "Language". Change it to English.
I do realize this is an old post but I'm answering anyways in case someone still has this issue.0 -
Thanks!
