Discounted History Book

For those that didn't see my post in the Zondervan Backgrounds Forum, today throuh Sunday Fortress Press is offering a history book at a discount. I am not allowed to post the code to the forum but just follow the Fortress Press Faithlife group and check today's postings.

FYI the book doesn't come with pictures which is a drag but maybe if enough buy it and make a stink they can redo the resource with pictures? If not, we all read books for the words

There is a 2nd edition, published in 2013, not available in Logos at the moment.

They say so themselves:

However, a book on church history shouldn't be judged by the presence/absence of pictures (however, here this includes maps and timelines as well, which seem to feature prominently in the printed book), but by the text content. From the little bit I could scan through since I own it, it seems to be very readable (which is immensly relevant for such topics) and the introductory essays make some interesting points.

Since the 400 images are not there, I will not be buying it. I will wait for a further edition that will contain the images.

LOGOS should really update this resource to include all of the images.

I will wait for a further edition that will contain the images.

If they do an update to the resource (but not a new edition!), then users who buy the resource now will receive that update. I understand where you are coming from, but I would much rather buy the book at $10 now in its current state than to buy the book for $50 later in its updated one.

Amazon has a few used books with unopened CD-ROM. Not much use on the other side of the world here, but should be a good alternative for US users who want a dead tree copy with pictures plus a Logos edition without pictures for LESS than 10 bucks.
