"Add To A Note" rather than "Add A Note"

After highlighting text in a resource I can right click and am offered the option to "Add a Note." Rather than start a new note I would much prefer to "Add to a Note." In other words I would like my selections to be collected in an open note.

Any hope??

I am not fully sure what you are asking, but I'll give it a shot.

First, for clarification, by "after highlighting text" you mean "when I select text." Right? This is a question about non-highlighting notes. Correct?

Secondly, do you understand the difference between note documents and notes themselves? What you are asking is already a possibility if you are trying to add a note to a note document. If you are indeed trying to additional content to a note itself, the only way this is possible is to add an attachment point. To be honest, I don't use that feature so I have no experience with it. I don't know if it is available in any other resource type than bibles.

It might be best if you were to give an example with screen shots.

This thread may be moved to the L6 forum since it is a question about the desktop app.

It is available nearly everywhere - not just resources but lemmas etc.

Open the notefile you want and find the note in it which you wish to append to then enter whatever to wish to append (or copy text to it). You can create a link to your resource you are linking by choosing an attachment point where you wish the link to go to, entering <ctrl-alt-c> and then moving to the note and clicking on the chain at the top and pasting your link.

Attachment points are new to me. Will give them a try to see if they improve workflow.

That's just a way of saying "where you want the link in the note to go" or what point in the resource (bible or other resource) you wish to be able to click on to bring up the note. Move the text to the top of the page for a text resource and use <ctrl-alt-c> to copy the location to paste as a link.

BTW: I usually try to pick something such as a period in the text to place the anchor so I don't have a large segment of text highlighted.
