Indexing Crashes

I've just received the Tyndale Commentaries download and installed it. So the indexer starts running but crashes after 3 minutes or so (after it starts guessing the time remaining)

I generated log files, started up logos blank and off line. Of note was the line:

Error Program Unhandled exception: System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: document id 239 is outside valid range of [1, 234)

Since indexing the entire computer would leave it without a sabbath/sunday rest, i'm looking for other options. Also i've noticed that rebuilding the index for others involves the same crash even after two days of indexing.

I know you hate to hear this, but a few days ago I purchase a new product and when I merged the indexes
mine crashed while indexing. Peter of Logos suggested I enter "rebuild
Index" (w/o the quotes) in the command line and that solved the
problem...it does a full reindexing.

It seem we are getting a lot of these problems after the last update.

Steve, It would be helpful to zip the files and attach them to your post using the paperclip icon on the menu bar that you see when you compose a message. Logos would need these and anyone who wants to help might make use of them as well.

Can you still use Logos 4 as you need to at this point? If so, perhaps you want to wait and see if the solution to what seems to be a new issue can be resolved by Logos. Let the computer have its day of rest. You can cancel the indexer if it starts again by using CTRL-SHIFT-ESC and selecting the 'processes' tab, then clicking on the Logos 4 Indexer process and selecting 'end process.'

Thanks for the paperclip tip since i had trouble attaching using the "options" tab of the composition page. It doesn't help that it took me so long to figure out that this forum doesn't like google chrome. Anyway here's the log: 4861.inspiron1501.zip

I use my account on two computers (desktop and laptop). Turns out, the desktop has the same failure too. I'm letting the index rebuild on that one. (dell dimension 3000, 2gb, intel celeron 2.6ghz, windows 7), here's the log for that one: 3806.dimension3000.zip

Both the indexer log files show a crash while merging indexes. Yours is about the fourth or fifth case I've seen today. I don't know what to suggest except trying to rebuild your index completely by typing Rebuild Index in the command bar. Obviously this is going to take some time.

Too many, and the only solution seems to be "rebuild index" OR (for some cases) deleting the \LibraryIndex folder to force a re-index.

It raises the obvious question of what's causing this? Has some bad data been downloaded?

And that is a user turn-off. The need for this ought to be very rare, but it is not.

I installed a new (old, Nelson Bible Study Library) packiage in Libronix 3.0g, activating it. Logos 4.0, as expected, did an automatic download of the 4.0 version.

I downloaded this identical new package (Nelson Bible Study Library) at different times on both my computers (with the same account) Now both indexers are failing and giving the same error with a different document ID. Is there any way to identify which document is 1325 or 1063 and delete it only for a re-download? Leads me to believe that it's tied to a broken resource in the collection more than a mis-download. How hard would it be to identify the broken resource?

Windows 7 Home Premium 32 (French) and Windows 7 Ultimate 32 (English)
Acer Aspire 4810T and HP Pavillion tx2510
4Gb Ram each.

Some of the Documents are hidden on one machine, which may account for the difference in number between the 2. It seems odd to need to re-index on both computers. Any Ideas?

This error can only be fixed by a rebuild as mentioned above. It's not related to a corrupt document(s).

I had the same problem after purchasing a new resource. This is really getting to be frustrating. I'm going to try a "rebuild index" command on my desk-top and see what happens before I do the same on lap-top (my primary working computer). It will be awhile before I buy any new resources if this problem is not resolved...and SOON!

Yep, "rebuid index" fixed one computer in less than 5 hours...guess i'm gonna try the other. I hope Logos can nail down this problem at some point...
