install problem update silver

I lost all my stuff in katrina and have just now gotten around to tryhing to rebuild. I bought the silver upgrade to sholars and told the sales person i needed the scholars, because the upgrade usually assumes you have the original.

I downloaded the update update.lbxupd and my computer won't open it. I've benn on hold twice once for 27 minutes and once for 32 minutes. I sent an email and they bounced it saying to post on a forum. Will somene please help.

Candice, you bought the upgrade to Version 4, correct? But you are trying to load Version 3? I'm not sure I understand.

I bought the upgrade for 4 and told them I wanted to all the stuff I had boght. They said if I downloaded the update that everything would come with it. Nothing came but the update which i cannot open Is that clear

update.lbxupd is for version 3, Logos 4 cannot utilize it. If you bought a Logos 4 base package you will need to download the engine from http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/LDLS4Installer/Logos4Setup.exe once installed use the username and password you use on Logos.com and it should recognize all your old and new books and download them all.

Are you saying that you cannot open Logos 4 or that Logos 4 has only the resources from the Silver package? What operating system are you running?

thanks, I knew I needed to download some kind of engine. I just bought the upgrade , but i'll try you idea and then see where we go from there. thanks I was getting so frustrated I almost lost my religion.

Well, it's installing. Thank God. It's using Microsoft.net Framework which I don't know what that is but at this point I don't care. Should I care? I'm just grateful to get something running. From what I heard this will take a little while, which is ok - i'm off at 5:30pm so we have the rest of the night.

ok, i'm in trouble again.

I don't think I should have checked that net microsoft because it spent 14 hours installing and nothing is on my computer. It must be in cybersapce somewhere. Anyway I have in my library 5 bibles and that is it. Now do I have to uninstall and start over or what? I can't find that video on youtube about installation. Thanks for your help

Ok, first what operating system are you on? If you are on XP you need service pack 3

If you received a warning about your .net installation it's possible that you need to reinstall it. However, if you have Logos launched and it does have some books in you library I don't think that's it. Is it possible that you have multiple user accounts with Logos?
