Steve Jobs just introduced the iPad. It runs iPhone OS, which means you'll be able to run Logos 4 on it!
Oh boy!!!
The most memory the iPad will have (atm) will be 64Gig.
How much of my 2300+ library will I be able to squeeze on this???
all of it. platinum resources is approx 14gb on my windows pc
Logos, my dear Logos, I'm going to keep writing until you let me know that you're ready to unleash a new Logos app made specifically for the iPAD [:D]. I cannot wait to access my library using that device. Please don't make us wait as long as Steve Jobs did to find out about the new Logos app. Please.......
Okay, I know that I've got to get a life real soon.

Yep. THey still haven't announced the price points, but... it'll run
Stop the presses! Guess I spoke too soon. Although the iPad is priced well below the expectations, $499, Apple is still using AT&T. If there infrastructure couldn't handle the traffic with the iPhone, how are they going to be able to adequately handle additional traffic as a result of the iPad? The device is going to come unlocked which might mean it can be used with another carrier. But, if I cannot get a data plan with another carrier, then the device is not any better than using an iPod. I love being able to access my library with the iPod, but only being able to use Wi-Fi is a bummer. Hmmm, I'm over it now, I still want the iPad!
Stop the presses again! Guess there will be a version for Verizon. I'm so confused [:D] all I want is a iPad and Portfolio, of course.

You mean like this? [:D]
Okay, I'm not posting anymore as my eyes are playing tricks on me. No version for Verizon. It said "3G version" not Verizon. Hmmm, I need to get some tea or something [:S]

The pre-release rumor is that it will work with Verizon.

I guess we'll have to wait and see about that. The AT&T unlimited-data $30/month seems like a good plan until you realize it's AT&T.
I guess the WiFi-only model is the the best choice until Verizon gets access.

What does that mean??? AT&T is the best I mean that! You must be a Verizon person! Have you not seen the commercials??? AT&T is the best!!!!!
So we know what we have... great, however I am disappointed that it is iPhone type closed system. Another problem I see is just iPhone Logos in it. I hoped we will have a full size Logos in it. The only hope now is that Logos will really surprise us with a new application suited just for iPad.
What about documents? I want to preach from that little thing. Will it work with Office docs?

Engadget reports NO multitasking. I'm receiving the iPad announcement with 1 giant "meh." I think it will be up to the apps to persuade me otherwise.
From what I have seen I am not impressed with the iPad. It looks like an iTouch that is too big to fit in a pocket. It will run neither Mac nor Windows applications. While it was hyped as a "Kindle killer," the reading experience on the iPad can't compare to reading a book on the Kindle. The Kindle (and most other e-readers) uses an e-ink display that electronically prints a permanent image on the screen. There is no backlighting and no image being refreshed faster than the human eye can see on an LCD monitor. This means there is much less eye strain when reading on a Kindle.
If someone wants to be able to use their entire library and needs to be online at the same time, I'd think they'd be better off getting a netbook and a monthly wireless Internet subscription service. I don't know if an XP Netbook is enough to run Logos 4 (I have XP on a Pentium 660 with 3GB RAM, and it's a little slow - but not as slow as the iPhone app), so one might want a small notebook with Windows 7 and more RAM. For $829 one should be able to get a decent Windows 7 notebook with a 10" screen that will have far more capabilities than the iPad, and you'll be able to run the full program and all your library, not just the ones for the iPhone.
