Topic Search

I'm just working with some simple topic searches, I'd like to get a handle on everything Jesus has to say about Money. My idea was to combine {Speaker <Person Jesus>} with <Topic Money> in a single search. The problem is that none of my <Topic> searches yeild results. For example, searching the ESV in All Passages for the example search <Topic Law> yields no hits. The only things that returns results is <Topic God> which produces 26,072 hits. What am I missing here?

I only see Factbook articles for Thing Money and Thing Money box, but not a Topic.

There is a preaching theme of Money in Factbook, so this might be closer to what you are looking for.

For example, searching the ESV in All Passages for the example search <Topic Law> yields no hits.

<Topic xxxx> implies a discussion, so Faithlife tag encyclopedias and bible concordances but not bibles. The Topic Guide provides a search:

<Topic Money> OR Money OR Budget OR Cash OR Currency OR Pieces OR Spending

and you will get results in ESV from the other terms. But a <Sense xxx> search will be better. Right click a result for Money in ESV, click SENSE on the right side and Search xxx on the left side. You will get <Sense money>, <Sense = wealth (Mammon)> as search terms.

To restrict the result to words spoken by Jesus, use

(<Sense money>, <Sense = wealth (Mammon)>) WITHIN {Speaker <Person Jesus>}

Compare this with results from

{Speaker <Person Jesus>} WITHIN {Section <PreachingTheme Money>}

While comparing results, found another sense to include in search:

(<Sense money> OR <Sense = treasure (wealth)> OR <Sense = wealth (Mammon)>) WITHIN {Speaker <Person Jesus>}

Using OR instead of commas causes different highlighting of senses in search results.

Noted Preaching Theme search includes Mark 12:42 that has subsequent comment by Jesus.

Stable 6.14 release is scheduled in five days. Screen shot shows 6.14 Release Candidate 1 search using OR.
