How do I search for all verses that contain two or more strong numbers?

How do I search for all verses that contain two or more strong numbers? That is the general question. The more particular question is how do I find all verses that contain what some refer to as an emphatic negative? I have both Logos 3 and 4 in case one of these versions can do this and the other can not. Thanks in advance.

I don't know about the strongs numbers..but I'd do a syntax search so you can keep it within clause boundaries...or sentence boundaries.....

What are you looking for exactly?

the Greek phrase "ou me"?

If that's it...then they're aren't many as I recall...

just do a basic search of the ESV or NA27 like:

g:ou WITHIN 1 word g:me

that would do it.

Yes, in particular, I am looking for the Greek phrase "ou me" and your search phrase seems to be what I wish to use. However, placing it in either Basic search or Speed Bible Search in Logos 3 shows no found verses and entering it in Logos 4 under Bible search also leads to 0 verses found. In Logos 4, in the drop down list of Bibles, I find ESV but none of the interlinear Bibles so maybe that is why nothing is found in Logos 4. Have you tried your search string and which version of Logos did you use and which search options did you set?

it seems that my transliteration skills lack....

Try this:

greek:οὐ WITHIN 1 WORD greek:μὴ

the (me) was supposed to be (mh) instead.

Either cut and paste that...OR type in g:ou and let the drop down do it's thing....then type in WITHIN 1 word and then type in g:mh and pick from the drop down again....

AND ONCE YOU GET A WORKING SEARCH....OPEN FAVORITES AND DRAG IT THERE AND NEVER GO THROUGH THIS AGAIN [:D] [:D]

Using "greek:οὐ WITHIN 1 WORDS greek:μὴ" as a search string, I find only 1 verse (Acts 4:20) if my Bible is the ESV. If I change the Bible to NA27, I find 85 verses (including Matt 16:22). I wish I knew why there are such great differences. Also, do you know of any way I can copy the results of the search to another program, say, Word? Clicking on the results window and then clicking Tools | Copy Bible Verses does not allow me to place the results in Word. Thanks for you rhelp.

no prob; glad to help...they are different because of the layout of the ESV..."reverse" interlinear....the word order is different than the NA27....so since this is a "proximity search" then there will be differences.

We could do a syntax search...I'll check it out.

Also, do you know of any way I can copy the results of the search to another program, say, Word? Clicking on the results window and then clicking Tools | Copy Bible Verses does not allow me to place the results in Word. Thanks for you rhelp.

Not yet...right now I copy the results either as a jpg or I open a bible and click through one by one from copy bible verses to word...

that functionality is coming soon...so hang on.

Because the NA 27 is not tagged with Strong's numbers, why should it be? Also, for this construction, all you need to do is highlight "οὐ μὴ" in the NA27 right click, make certain "selection" is chosen and select search this resource. οὐ μὴ will always be next to each other and since they are particles they can't be inflected so you don't need to worry about changing forms.

The greek: tag searches the surface text in the NA27 or the manuscript field (I believe) in a reverse interlinear. Because of the structure of the data in the reverse interlinears they are unfit to find words in relationship between words with any accuracy (That is the WITHIN, BEFORE search syntax ect.). RIs are fine for looking up a single word of any morphological combination. If you are looking for a structure of some kind there is no substitute for the BHS or NA27.

Right now there is no good solution for exporting search results. The analysis feature has an export to an excel file, but it isn't what you are looking for. When verse lists are reimplemented this will probably provide a solution.
