TIP: 5 Star Rating as Collection

I was thinking that the dynamic approach to making collections has some advantages.

ONe example I was thinking of is in making a "5 Star Commentary" or "Favorites" collection.

If we set the Collection to filter for only Commentaries with a 5 Star rating, then every time I want to add a commentary to my "Favorites" collection, all I have to do is give it a 5 star rating. To remove it, just lower the rating to 4 stars.

This seems like an easy way to add new resources into a collection without having to open and edit a collection each time. Also, a combination of Star Rating with Tags is a good way to dynamically add resources to multiple collections all at the same time.

Say one collection for 5 Star Commentaries

Another for Commentaries on Mark

etc...

Great idea! You could do the same with a Tag, e.g. give them all a FavCom tag.

I like it. I use it very much in iTunes to add music to sync it with the iPhone. It is great it is possible now in Logos. I think combination of tags and ratings might open many new creative ways of sorting the books. We will see. Thanks Joe.
