Question on how "My Documents" are indexed

I am rethinking my use of notes and in the process I noticed how when I use the "My Content" section in the passage guide I see just a link to the note/clipping. Clicking on this usually brings me to the top of the file and if it's a large file I basically give up trying to scroll down to find the note. (See below)

However when I use search to search "My Content" there is an arrow that I can click and go directly to the note I am searching. (See Below)

Is there a reason why the passage guide is not returning search results the same way? Is it because the note file is too big? It seems to open up to wherever it was last.

Mike, Notes are really not considered a 1st class citizen when it comes to search. Even if you just do a plain search of "Your documents", the results show in the search pane of course, and the search term is highlighted there. But as you noted, even if you click on the highlighted term in the search result, it takes you not to a highlighted result in your note text, but to the top of the note - which renders the process pretty much unusable with large notes. Unfortunately this has been a reported issue for years, and it is "on the list" of improvements" but it must be way down (you can find threads in the forums on this that go back if you search). Without knowing of course I suspect this will hinder the implementation of the "feature request" Bradley linked to in the other thread, because if that gets implemented then search would probably work correctly for all Notes.

I know of two workarounds if someone does not have another way to handle their notes. If I am forced to search like this, I copy the Note, paste it in Word, and then search to find what I am looking for. Pretty nice for a bible search tool huh. The other thing you can do is take your large notes and build a Personal Book out of them periodically, and add to it periodically, and then search will work exactly the way you want.

It confuses me that Faithlife continues to ignore this glaring weakness in searching user data in the product. But they do.
