Community Notes display icon but no content on Verbum iPad app

I'm using the Verbum app on iPad with my students and trying to use community notes as a way of placing questions in their reading assignments. I entered the notes on my laptop and they will display fine there.

When I open the app on my iPad, it will display the green bubble indicating that there is a community note present, but when I click on the bubble it says "No notes". The notes do show up on the Faithlife page for the group.

Any thoughts on why the note content won't populate?
