Sort library by tags/collections
Is there a way to sort your library by collection on mobile? I have the books I intend to read straight through marked with the tag to-read in the desktop, but dint know how to find these on Android, so I can use it as a reader. Am I missing something obvious?

This is currently not supported.

Thanks for the prompt reply. It seems to me like the ability to sort your 15000 books is something which would be high on the list of priorities.

Try entering mytag:to-read in the library search box.

Many customers think <the feature they really want> is high on the list of priorities. Unfortunately we can't do everything as we don't have a vast army of developers.
Please go to UserVoice and search for "collections", then vote up a previous suggestion or create your own.

Kevin, did you notice that the question above was a twofold one, referring to collections and tags. Filtering by tags is supported.

Awesome. Thanks, Damian!
I'm not saying that both collections and tags are self evidently essential (in response to Kevin's slightly snarky comment), but if there were neither, that would make the library unwieldy and should be a self evident priority. Since one already exists, the other becomes much less important.
I do see that collection support was marked as planned in February 2014. I would not think it would be normal to put uservoice votes on something already planned.

Yes, filtering by tags is supported but that isn't the same thing as sorting by tags. It appears that customers want to 1) filter by collection, 2) sort by collection and 3) sort by tags - i.e. three different UserVoice suggestions.
Unfortunately there has already been some confusion in the UserVoice suggestions as a result of having more than one feature request per suggestion: https://logosmobile.uservoice.com/search?filter=ideas&query=collection
For anyone who wants to create a UserVoice suggestion please try to follow #4 in the guidelines: "Please be concise by having a single suggestion per post."

Yes, you are right - I'm sorry for being snarky, please forgive me.
Honestly we can't code every feature that everyone wants and I don't set feature priorities, although I try my best to argue on customers' behalf.

I am sure Justin can speak for himself, but when I read this "I have the books I intend to read straight through marked with the tag to-read in the desktop, but dint know how to find these on Android, so I can use it as a reader", this is clearly a request to filter by tags.
Could I repeat my request for a support page on library filters.
i imagine collection support is much more difficult due to the dynamic nature of the collection tool.

Almost all of the Library Filters supported on Desktop are also supported in the Mobile apps. Please either refer to Logos Help on the Desktop app or see here: https://wiki.logos.com/Library__#Using_the_Find_box_to_filter_your_resource_list_in_the_Library_window .

Thanks. I was trying to find that the other day and couldn't.
being on my iPad, I can't check the desktop app help files. i would love this info in the mobile app itself.

Justin, if you haven't got too many books on your reading list, I've found the quickest way for me to access them is through Favourites. On desktop Logos I just created a To read folder, added some sub folders for categories. Then brought up my reading collection and dragged each volume over (a bit tedious I know). Now I can access them with a few presses on my mobile app (menu / favourites / #To read.... I've also found it useful on my mobile to use Vyrso for reading books cover to cover and keep Logos for study. That way I don't have to keep reselecting and loading up the book I'm currently reading. Hope that helps.

I apologize for being snarky about you being snarky. I understand every feature can't be coded, for lots of reasons. I think the tagging functionality is fine for sorting; it just didn't occur to me to use the same syntax as the desktop, which seems painfully obvious now.
Dave C, thanks for the tip on Favorites! I use my favorites like folders
NT
-> Gospels
-- > Matthew
so it never occurred to me to make a To Read folder.
