1. There are several reviews of the DOCH on the web if you hunt around.
2. My own observation is that reading it is like reading a telephone directory. So many cast members but where is the story? According to the MS Word count the article on אָדָם (Adam) has 4761 words in 12 A4 pages. After reading the whole article you still might know what the word means. The Dictionary exhaustively notes every reference to the word in the Bible and the DSS (especially later in the alphabet) without explaining why they think the word means one thing sometimes and another thing other times. If you were looking for a discussion about whether "ADAM" is connected to the Hebrew word for "red" and missed a single arrow in the previous article you would discover nothing.
3. eg the article on heaven has over 10,000 words, yet doesn't help you work out whether Gen 1:1 is talking about the sky, heaven or the heavens. (several other lexicons are also fairly unhelpful here.)
4. There is a Concise edition in print but where is the Logos version?

Ignoring the real issue here (DCH vs Hermeneia) and for any later passers by:
- DCH proposes to use a linguistic approach emphasizing meaning from use. So, enties are structured against grammatical organization. This ties in quite well to the increasing Logos visualization tool sets. And quite arguable.
- It also proposes to include hebrew up to publishing of the Mishnah. Other lexicons often stick to Biblical, etc. Again, arguable.
Both of these quickly run afoul of 'definitions' since they sit in hotly contested territory ... language development/timing and thense meaning.
But DCH more clearly illustrates the sins of BDAG on the greek side ... use being meaning, and use as theologically assumed. DCH is useful in its proposals.
A fun example is Jer 50:11 ... DCH notes the issue of whether the calves are having fun in the grass ... or heifers are treading out the grass. So, if you compare your translations, the images go wild ... fun little calves, wanton treaders (huh?), plus spreading abroad calves (having lived in Texas, I've not seen calves do that).
