How often do logos users use this feature?  How important is it to you? What do you use PBB for?

I use it regularly to resolved limitations in what Logos can do  - primarily lectionaries and Bible harmonies... I would use it even more if the ability to do timelines in XML was restored.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I use it a lot.  Sometimes for books unavailable in Logos, or special functions like indices, but primarily for my own documents such as sermons or teaching materials.

Yet another that uses it for books unavailable in Logos.  Have over 290.  Many from PDF files found on the net.  Others converted from other software packages that under copyrights I can convert to another format but can not share with others.  [[None uploaded to Logos]]

David I hope out of a moment of distraction you don't hit the upload button, as there is no way to delete a personal book from Faithlife servers - or even know what is up there in aggregate. Another nice missing hole never addressed.

I use it for documents that are of historical significance in my faith tradition that are not available from FaithLife.

I use it for Bible translations in other languages that are not available in Logos. I also use it for personal documents as well as some out of print books not available in Logos.

I would greatly value if PBs would synch to mobile devices especially for the foreign language Bibles and personal documents.

I use it for multiple purposes: my sermons, articles and blog posts I find online that I want to have available for future use, and public domain works I find valuable.

I use it regularly and it is very important to me.  I use it to add public domain material, or material that I receive permission to use that Logos does not carry.  A perfect example is the Journal of Francis Asbury, which is very important to American Methodist studies.  In fact, it is one of the most important resources that I have.

Also, Personal Books are very helpful for targeted study that would not interest a large enough group for Logos to produce the resources.  I and a few other of the Asbury grads are interested in the ministry of Henry Clay Morrison, who was a well known evangelist and founder of Asbury Theological Seminary.  I received permission to submit several of his old books to the files forum for personal books.  This is most helpful.

Personal Books are a big deal for me.

    Semi-regularly

You asked for "my" opinion: This is one of the MOST important Logos features.

"Notes" [as has been acknowledged many times by "Bob"] is NOT and was not intended to be a word-processor.

But PBB allows me to use a Word processor of my choice to format MY materials [lectures, sermons, articles, out of print books, materials that will NEVER see the light of day in Logos]  and have them searchable, visible etc.

One of the few drawbacks is the "clunky" front end that must be used. ie. Each time a minor edit is completed adn the article re-compiled, the resources "pops" to the top making a search necessary. It is just not "smooth sailing" to use when doing a lot of work, especially on the same resource.

But the "hassle" is worth it.

I also really appreciate the Sermon File process with its many Indexing features.

This is the part of Logos that I wanted back in the late 1990's when I first bought the software.

    Thanks for asking.

    Regards, SteveF

Like others, I'm fond of the PBB feature (even though I use it less than I'm sure some others do). Sometimes it's of value for importing my own documents; other times, it lets me integrate external resources that I want to use alongside Logos features.

I know every now and again people observe how helpful it might be to be able to import or link PDFs. I'm happy to add my voice once again: that would be yet another benefit to an already important feature.
