have been prearing library for 24 hours....what to do?
Is the small blue Logos icon in the system tray (lower right hand side of your screen)? If so and you hover over it what does it say?
If you just are getting the white rectangle in the center of your screen and the 'preparing library' after 22 hours, something indeed is wrong.
Please also tell us what library you have installed (how many resources) and whether this is a reinstall, or an update, or triggered by a resource download. Also let us know what your computer specs are: operating system, size of hard drive and free space on it, processor, amount of RAM.
this is a fresh install on new lenovo x200 computer off dvd. I have succesfully intalled on another computer using download. could there be something wrong with dvd?
oh, it's schollar's library,p[lenty of ram and space...
could there be something wrong with dvd?
Possibly, or a problem reading data from it. Since you aren't too far in, I'd suggest uninstalling and re-installing. It would help to activate logging so we'd have more to go on if it fails again.
See: http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging
just did that, same behavior, stuck on stage one, can you see anything from that side, i am logged in now.
No we can't see anything here.
Perhaps someone else can help, or Logos Tech. However without logging what is going on I am just shooting in the dark. I'm pretty sure Logos Tech would want to see log files.
You can activate logging, uninstall again, and reinstall again so at least you could upload the log files from the My Documents\Logos Log Files folder. You should zip the files and use the paperclip icon in the Compose Message window to upload the files. We'd want to see all the log files from the most recent install.
