How do I simplify the context menu?

OK ... I was being lazy ( Surprise ) ... I was reading Acts 10:3 without reading (or even seeing) Acts 10:1-2 ... I was following a link from a search.

The passage says ... 'he had a vision' ... and without thinking I clicked on he, hoping that it might tell me who 'he' was ... I know ... lazy!

This is the context menu ... in two shots ... since it is so long ...

I was hoping that there would be an entry along the lines of Person: Cornelius ... instead I am looking at a lot of entries that make little sense to me, at least in the context that I needed. All of the <> discourse entries seem to make it very difficult to see that somehow this 'he' is not tagged with the name 'Cornelius'. There is an event item, but other than that I see nothing of use. Now I am sure that somebody wants all of these entries ... my desire if them to go away ! Is this possible?

We can't make them going away but I believe Faithlife know they need to simplify this panel.

Hi Martin - he certainly is tagged, as the following search shows (everything tagged Cornelius is highlighted), but it needs someone brighter than me to explain why it doesn't appear in the Context Menu (or whether it is designed to do so).

I agree. As a comparison, the same pronoun in verse 3 in the ESV is tagged correctly (as Cornelius). However in the ESV, the "to him" in verse 4 should also be Cornelius, but instead it is tagged as the Angel of the Lord (which makes the angel talking to himself). I assume it is difficult to remove all the errors and omissions from datasets like these.

It's not.

As a reminder, whenever you have questions about tagging in a reverse interlinear, open the ribbon. All tagging is performed on the Greek and Hebrew text, not on the English translation. The ribbon will show you the relationship of your English text to the underlying original language.

In this case, the NIV is a lot more "dynamic"; it's translated the dative Greek noun "(in a) vision" as "he had a vision". Since the pronoun and verb aren't in the original Greek text, there is no tagging about "who" saw the vision on the text that the NIV has added (to make the translation read better), and thus no person appears on the context menu. The verb "saw" (later in the verse; in the following sentence in NIV) will be tagged with "Cornelius" because he's the implied subject.
