Do I really have to uninstall and reinstall to get newest resources?
Last week I got some new resources that show up on my desk top, but not ipad. I called customer support and they suggested uninstalling the Logos app and reinstalling it.
Is that necessary?

It shouldn't be - I can't remember a time when I needed to do that (so it may have happened but it would be rare)
What resources and, particularly, are they new to you or new to the Logos catalog?

Sometimes the iPad app gets confused. A clean install can fix it. Be aware though that it's possible for a reinstall to appear to the Faithlife servers as a new device, which means it might not remember which resources were previously downloaded.

It shouldn't be necessary to reinstall the app. By "not showing up" on the iPad, do you mean they didn't appear in the Library?

Just to clarify, "rebuild index" should be typed into the Reference field at the top of the Home Page.

I experienced the same problem a week ago when I bought a base package. A reinstall did NOT fix it, but it fixed itself overnight. I had forgotten about the rebuild index command. I had written it off as a server issue, but could it be the app isn't checking properly for updates?

Rebuild index did the trick.
Thanks,

As far as I know there are no issues with the apps is checking for updates. In your specific case it's hard to whether it was a server issue because it wasn't reported when the problem happened.

I did report it on the Faithlife beta group, but it was a Saturday evening at 11pm CDT, so you probably didn't see it.

Okay, sorry about missing that. You mention "But I think the download problem was caused by having yet another device entry created for the iPad." - is this a new device or did you update the OS, etc?

It's not a new device. It has iOS 9.3.5 on it, but I'm not sure when I was applied...probably at the beginning of September.

I don't understand your comment about having yet another device entry... in any case I'm glad it's working now.

Just to be clear, I'm talking about getting another entry on the list of devices Logos knows about when I reinstall the app:
I should clean this list up, but it will continue to grow and it's a bit of an effort to figure out which ones are the real ones, so I haven't bothered. (I own 2 iPhones and 2 iPads, FWIW).
I know this is a somewhat different topic from the original post, but I wanted to make sure I was clear, especially when support is suggesting a reinstall.
