"Your note was flagged in My Faithlife"

I've received the above message in an email, but no further information. I have no idea why it's been flagged (or even what being "flagged" actually means, nor can I find info about flagged posts, either via Google search or searching here). Going to the actual note on Genesis 26:19–22 offers no additional information either. Is there some way I can find out what this means and how to correct it?

Thanks for looking!

    Hi John,

Flags are a simple way for people to anonymously indicate that the content is irrelevant or offensive to them in some way. The fact that they chose not to reply with details of their offense probably means they'd rather stay unidentified.

I'd recommend giving the note a considered review in light of the above. If it still seems appropriate to you, then disregard the flag.

    Thanks for using Faithlife!

Thanks John; I appreciate the clarification. I had thought a flag might hurt my account in some way, as they are typically used on other sites to report offensive or abusive content (hence, my confusion and concern, as my note is neither). I've reviewed the note in question, and I find the analysis and application to be sound, so I'm going to assume it was disagreeable to someone else.

    Thanks again!

Is it possible that the email went out in error subsequent to someone just liking the Community Note?

There is a flag recorded on the note in addition to some affirmations; there's no error. It is certainly possible that someone accidentally flagged the note while attempting to do some other action.

In any case, flags do not have a detrimental impact on your account and their purpose is to help encourage self-moderation. Disregarding a single flag after thoughtful review is completely reasonable.
