SUGGESTION: Church Fathers Explorer

It can be difficult for those of us who didn't grow up in a tradition that emphasizes the church fathers to keep ourselves oriented as we start reading their works. I would love to see an explorer that would provide some simple information, in a graphical format, to help us understand how the various church fathers related to each other, and to the broader sweep of church history. Types of information that might be helpful could include:
- Time period
- Primary geographic location of activity
- Language (e.g., Greek vs. Latin)
- Church offices held
- Primary works
- Major controversies involved in
I'm not looking for full biographies - just a simple tool to help me keep them all straight. If it had links to the primary works, that would be gravy. I can probably do most of this through some combination of the timeline and other tools, but it would be great to have it in one place.

Great idea.
I'd also like to see a "Heresy Explorer."

Good idea. It would be helpful if the Factbook was also updated with this information as they collect it.

Good idea, but why not call it "doctrine explorer", so that no one gets upset.

I assume that you mean the classic heresies of the early church.

Funny, almost a year ago (it was Oct. 5, 2015) someone posted a similar suggestion: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/117211.aspx
We have this and the other item filed as suggestions. No word on how/if or on what path suggestions turn to reality for this one.

Yep, that would have been me a year ago. I'm sure whatever direction Faithlife goes with this it will be very helpful. Lots of possibilities. They could even start small and expand it later if they want, but I'm going to be optimistic and say they WILL do something with this at some point! [;)]

I also agree. Having access to the Church Fathers has been greatly enhanced by Logos. However, it still needs tools to be developed like this suggestion that allow it to have the same kinds of conveniences as working with the biblical tests.

Has there been any update on this dataset? I would love to have something like this in Logos Software.

What else is needed to make the explorer complete?
