Sorry if this is a dumb question or answered elsewhere, but I've searched the forum and can't find an answer.
Is it possible to get the Logos 7 software without buying additional/new books? And if it's not free how much does it cost?
Thank you,
Ron
Hi Ron, You can upgrade to just the Logos 7 features with this link here: https://www.logos.com/product/120029/logos-7-full-feature-set
Not exactly.... the link takes me to something that requires me to buy 307 new resources at considerably more than I'd expect in price: $589.99.
I could get a starter set for less than that. I was really asking for a Logos 6 to Logos 7 software upgrade (even at some $$ cost) without buying any additional books. I buy them one at a time and already have a considerable set of resources for my needs.
Regards,
The free engine for L7 will be available late Jan, early Feb. As with each major release. If this is what you're referring to.

You realize, I assume, that the link given is to the version in which you buy no additional books - you only purchase the data required for the features to work.

Logos Now membership is considerably less expensive for upgrading Logos 6 to 7 (along with new features now for Logos 8). Logos Now also includes online access to Logos Web App and Bible Browser.
However, if subscription is stopped, access to Logos 7 features plus more also stops.

According to the above link my Anglican portfolio 7 is missing a whole lot of data sets from being complete.

Those will come as part of the L8/Now release cycle somewhere in time. 😁😜😂
Quite true ... Portfolio is the library only. What feature set did you purchase or did you go the Now route?
Thanks, Denise! This is exactly what I was about.
I have bought nothing and am not planing on getting anything even though I would really like the Proverbs explorer I am just use to the fact thT all datasets use to be included in Gold packages and above. Finding out that to get all the new datasets I would need to spend an additional $130 to get them well I am not going to do it, I live without those features. And will think twice next year about upgrading my libraries because part of my doing it was the belief that in doing so I was getting all the datasets.

My sympathy for being one of those caught up in the confusing initial layouts.

There definitely was a lot of confusion over that change, and I got bit by that belief too, but it turned out to be a better deal for me. I actually saved about $250 because of Logos Now, and not having to buy the features.
In the past, there was only one choice. To buy everything -- resources, features, and datasets -- as part of a base package.
This year, a new user would only have to buy Bronze (instead of Gold) if they wanted to own the (offline) features/datasets, and we have a lot more flexibility now, in terms of whether we own or rent resources as well as features.
Personally, I think it's great that FL will give users the L7 Core Engine for free, next year, and that no one has to pay anything for additional features or resources, if they can get by with what they already own.
It's not the end f the world, and I can get by without the new datasets. This just makes me far less likely to upgrade to 8 knowing I might as well wait a few months and get it for free.
PS: As MJ might remember I got my package primarily for the books, I just thought the datasets would be the cherry on top, it feels like a foolish move to me but ultimately it s FL call and it is my lack of attention not a deception on FL part.
PPS: I bit the bullet and went with Verbum Full Set Features since a few prepubs came up like the Vulgate interlinears and dead sea scroll interlinears which together ended up only a few dollars less than VFSF.
