Logos 7 and Topical Bundles

A question for Faithlife:
Previously, with the purchase of a Logos 7 base package, you'd get 15% off the purchase of an L6 topical bundle. With L7, I have a few questions:
1. Is this perk still available?
2. If yes, how would it work now that the base package is broken up into a library and a feature set? Do you still get the 15% off if you buy either one, or do you have to buy both at the same time to quality?
3. Will there be Logos 7 topical bundles?
Thanks in advance!

I am not seeing it, but I could be mistaken.

It's not working. If you go to www.logos.com/bundles with the Feature Set and a base package in your Cart, one of them will likely be removed (by a bug, I think).

Yesterday, when I went through the process of adding a base package to my cart on Logos.com, it took me through the Logos 6 Topical Bundles page, but I forget whether it gave me a discount beyond what I would have had anyway. I don't think it did.

We plan to release new L7 topical bundles in the next week or two (probably after we release the L7 Orthodox base packages).

Will the be an incentive to buy those topical bundles at the same time as a base package/library/feature set?

Ugh, I obviously meant a Logos 6 base package!
Anyway, I tested and the discount is not working with any of the three scenarios:
with feature set only (though it does give you the option to add a bundle, similar to L6):
with library only (you only get the option to add a top product, not a bundle):
I tried in vain to get all three, feature set, library and bundle, in my cart, but it kept removing the library (as Mark indicated).

Great to hear! Can you tell us whether, with these L7 bundles, we'll get the usual 15% off, and how that would work now that the base package is split into two components?

Ben, is there anywhere with a master list of what packages/bundles Faithlife intends to release for Logos 7? I learned about the yet-to-be-released Orthodox base packages on another thread (https://community.logos.com/forums/t/129335.aspx), I learned from this thread that there will also be new bundles, and there is yet another thread as of now waiting for a response from Faithlife regarding the fate of Chaplain's Library (https://community.logos.com/forums/t/129448.aspx). It would be in customers' best interests to have a full list of what was not made available at launch but is scheduled for release so we can make an informed decision. It would also potentially reduce the number of returns that have to be processed by Faithlife employees if people buy something today only to exchange it when something else gets released. Thank you for considering this!

We have not yet finalized pricing on L7 bundles, nor have we defined what discounts may be made available. However, rest assured that we will honor the "when purchased with a base package" price on L7 bundles for anyone who purchased a base package before the L7 bundles were made available.

Great! I was concerned about that, to the point of wondering if I should leave off my purchases till the bundles come through. Also, you said "base package" - for Logos Now users who aren't buying a feature set, will buying a library trigger the option to buy the bundle at a discount? In my experiment, it didn't work, and I had to add it to my cart manually.

Yes, Logos Now members who are purchasing a library will be offered bundles on the same terms as non-members who are purchasing a base package.

Hang in there, Faithlife! Hopefully the worst of Release Week is over and y'all can have a restful weekend. We'll still be here next week, and the new bundles will be welcome when they come.

Just curious as to the status of the bundles... also if we already purchased a base package will we be able to buy a bundle at the discount you would get when buying with a package?

It is a cryin' shame the topical bundles were not available for purchase along with the introduction of Logos 7 like they were with Logos 6. I was able to buy the Master topical bundle at significant savings along with Collectors Edition when Logos 6 was released.JH said:Chris duMond said:The Logos 7 bundles are actively being worked on. It's a crying shame that left you without funds for the topical bundles:

Bundles are still in active development. We are getting close(er) but still don't have a ship date. Again, if you purchased, or are waiting to purchase, Logos 7, rest assured that we will still allow you to get bundles at the discount as if you purchased the bundle(s) alongside Logos 7.

Ben, on 8-23-16, the bundles were only suppose to be a week or two away. Is there still no firm release date? No list of resources we can look at? I'm currently holding off on the purchase of some resources because I don't want to buy them now only to find out "after' the 30 day return window expires, that they're either included in a bundle or that there are some very similar (acceptable replacement) resources included in a bundle.Ben Amundgaard said:We plan to release new L7 topical bundles in the next week or two (probably after we release the L7 Orthodox base packages).

Ditto. FL should put up some product pages, so we know what these bundles will contain.
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

Agreed. Phil Gons usually chimes in on things like this, but he has been pretty quiet the past few weeks on the forums. There are several threads that could use his attention.

I don't know if it was FL's plan to stagger the product launch, but I think Orthodox and Reformed didn't ship until a month after launch, Bilingual just shipped last week, and other L7 languages are still in pre-pub. (Chinese doesn't even have L6.)
I suspect the silence is probably because everyone is still busy with base packages, never mind topical bundles.

Topical bundles have not been a priority as demonstrated by their actions. While topical bundles are a priority for many of their customers, Logos will get them out based on their priorities. Logos is a business with a monopoly in their sector. If they had a strong competitor offering topical bundles things would be different.

To be fair, you can still buy the copious range of Logos 6 bundles. I appreciate that updates are nice for people who already own those, but it's not like there are no options. And they have confirmed that they're working on new bundles. And we don't know that it's Faithlife holding things up or being slow - it might well be an issue with one or more of the publishers or... well, any number of things.

The bundles are already discounted - I know we will get an additional discount when the Logos 7 bundles come out, but the Logos 6 bundles are still bargains. I bought the Hebrew Starter Bundle about 4-6 weeks ago, because I wanted Futato's BBH and the price difference between that resource and the bundle was almost inconsequential. Buying that book alone on Amazon would have cost me considerably more than buying the entire bundle from Logos.
I do get the frustration, but Logos have assured us that it is being actively worked on, and I don't see any reason to doubt them. I'm thrilled that we do have these collections available in the meantime, and I'm thrilled that Logos is promising that the discount will remain available for people who've already upgraded. It just seems unnecessary to throw out accusations given how many good-will gestures and readily available options are in place.

This has been my experience on several occasions. Whenever I look at single volumes, I look to see if they are part of an L6 Bundle. With dynamic pricing, I can usually get 3-10 volumes for the price of the one volume at which I am looking to purchase.

You guys do know that Logos makes more money by selling the topical bundles vs. the base packages right?
Why?
Because normally books in BP would cost around $1 to $5 each
Whereas in the (TB) Topical Bundles would cost around $4 to $10 each
What I'm saying is, its better buying BP than TB, unless you guys needed to buy a book, but for a reason, that book is not included in a BP but in TB, that would be the better choice to buy the TB instead of that individual book. (if you can afford the TB)

To me, the Topical Bundles seem to have more titles that are relevant to my interests. Base Packages may have a lot of titles, thus making them less expensive overall, but I would rather pay a little more per title for titles I will actually use.

Hi Rick,
I made a mistake in giving any estimate at all. That's a lesson I'm still working on learning [:(]
We're actively working on this. It's a big priority to us (we realize that we're missing out on sales because of the delay). There are some technical issues that we're trying to work through.
I will see if it is possible to get a list up at some point (no promises!).
As always, we appreciate your patience.

The store and back end already support (dynamic pricing for) collections. What's so different about L7 topical bundles, from a technical perspective?
Ben Amundgaard said:

Patience isn't an issue, but I wonder if the "technical issues" have more to do with a lack of manpower, due to all the downsizing that's taken place?
