Thank you Kaleb. I noticed at the top of the deals page you had to call to get those deals. Will that be changed at some point so we can order online or is calling the only option?
Also, will the mystery sales be able to be seen online on Black Friday or do we need to call just to find out what those deals are?

On a side note, the application commentaries bundle doesn't seem to show a sale price for me... it only shows the minus products you own price (dynamic)

Be careful when ordering these, as the dynamic pricing is incorrect.
As with other recent promotions, the dynamic pricing is being applied before the Black Friday discount, causing the Black Friday discount to be less than what it should be.
For example, the Princeton Theology Collection, at 40% off, is the same price when signed out, as when signed in, even though I own part of the collection:

What is the thinking behind the phone-only deals? I find the idea of making purchasing decisions on the phone to a stranger way too uncomfortable to deal with, which is a bit gutting here - can I email anyone to request a price list?

Hey Mattillo,
Calling or emailing is the only way to hear about the pricing discount and mystery products in that section of the page. There will be no way to order off the website for those. You can simply send an email to Experts@logos.com and they will happily send you an email back with all the information on the products.
I apologize for that mistake that product was not supposed to be on the page there is no additional discount offered on the application commentary bundle. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Yes you can hear about the deals through email as well. Just send an email to experts@logos.com and with the inquiry about the black friday specials and they will gladly respond back.

I just checked. Only two of the volumes were pulled:
Dictionary of the Old Testament: Historical Books
Dictionary of the Old Testament: Prophets
Unless the pull is a work in progress, and I caught a mid-stream snapshot.

It looks like 3 sales aren't new at all, but have been available at that same price as part of the L7 upgrade offers. (Discount shown once you have an L7 library in your cart.)

That upgrade offer sale is still ongoing, and a sales rep mentioned that if you bought an L7 base package in the last 30 days, they will pass on the upgrade offer savings to you, without having to buy another L7 library.
Just be careful what you buy through the upgrade offer, as several items listed there are bundled in other base packages, possibly saving you additional hundreds or thousands in the process.

The sales reps do profit via sales placed through them, although I don't know the specific details.
I think the "logic" of calling in is not only a means for FL to help out their sales team, but also to honestly let customers save more since the reps can work out better deals that don't show up on the web site. It doesn't happen too often, but I've gotten a discount via my rep that I wouldn't have received via the web site.

Totally agree, why is Faithlife not listening to its customers on these ridiculous phone only or if your an international customer try your luck as to when we respond email us only deals. FL please move on from method of marketing that alienates a segment of your user base every time they see it used.

It seems ironic that with Logos wanting everyone to use the 'cloud' (certain features only available in the cloud etc) that they can't (or won't) let their website show the offers available to all!
1. In this day and age, phone-call sales seems a backward step indeed (not to mention the additional overhead costs that Logos must be incurring etc!)
2. What about the bad communications/reputation a company gets from 'busy lines', 'being put on hold' etc? Website sales is just, well, instant!
I'm sure they must get marketing opportunities from some unsuspecting callers - I can't think of any other reason!
Just my thoughts!

Plus, I think they probably sell more, by having a rep get you to buy (more expensive) bundles instead of individual resources. That's just the nature of sales. They can make up the cost of any discount when the order ends up being larger.

I have called before for mystery deals and the discount is between 20% and 30% off and that is the best they can do. No such thing as asking the sales manager for approval on anything. I may call out of curiosity hopefully they won't offer me something I already have like they've done in the past.

Every time I get a message to phone in for a super secret mystery sale, I immediately delete it and ignore the sale for the rest of the duration.
Bob and everyone at FL: learning to use Logos takes enough time and effort. Don't turn buying stuff from you into work as well.

I understand your point, although I assume that the 'leeway' is provided for every customer who call in (so it would be fair to all callers and - to use your words in your first answer as to why it is call-in only, becuase they want to be honest to their customers), but the question I am asking is why can't the website show that lowest possible (leeway-d) price for a particular resource.
If the 'manager' is going to approve it anyway for every caller (which is why you suggested it was a call-in only sale), then why can't the website show that price. It just means that those of us who can;t phone are discriminated against- for no reason. If Logos have the ability to reduce, so should the website.
In fact, from Logos point of view, I'm sure the website could be programmed to provide the lowest possible price more accurately (e.g depending on size of current cart, previous purchases etc.) than a human manager who will just automatically approve every request .
Also they may lose potential sales from people browsing website and thinking (as has been said in the past) that resources are too expensive.
As the Honda automobile company advertise, it is good to ask 'Why?'

I am based in Singapore, and i often order through a sales rep via online chat. I get extra discounts sometimes, but even if there is little to gain for me, i am most glad that the sales rep get to benefit from my order. It is usually a win win situation.

The Black Friday Sale page gives no idea about prices either ... would somebody at FL please clarify what is going on? When is a sale not a sale? ... when nothing is on sale ... because nothing has a price !!!!
I wonder what a prospective new customer would make of FL and their method of doing business.

Same here. It's just hard work. Still, the prices that I can see aren't too exciting, and the one hidden price (for JPS commentary) that I was given is less exciting than I'd hoped, so I guess I'll just give it a miss.

The call in sales policy is a reminder of how far Logos is disconnected to it's customers. The pre-pub policy is another example of outdated policies that make no sense in the digital world where todays lowest price will most likely be cheaper tomorrow.

I'd like to give you guys (generic masculine, referring to the people complaining about having to call in to get a sale price) a different perspective on this.
I get the frustration over the pre-pub price restriction, and think it is a valid complaint about not extending a publisher's sale, when other software companies are. However, after reading through these complaints, I felt compelled to respond.
The feeling that comes across from these types of complaints on this thread (perhaps unintentionally), is that Logos (Faithlife) OWES them/us sales, and in the manner we want it. The reality is, Faithlife doesn't owe anyone a sale price. Also, this type of sale is very common for companies. In fact, some companies have sales around this time of year that require you to go in to their stores in the very middle of the night, or jump through other seemingly extreme hoops. Just like in those instances, if it is not worth calling in to get the sale price, don't participate in the sale. If you are too overwhelmed by the thought of making a purchase decision in the presence of a stranger, than this sale is not for you.
I absolutely do understand the complaint of people from other countries, who don't want to call in when they don't even know what the discount is. There seems to be a couple of work-arounds brought up on this thread, but still, maybe this sale doesn't line up well for you, either.
Why is Logos doing this sale in this way? Almost certainly, they ARE doing this because it benefits their company. That is the way companies work. Walmart and other companies don't offer sale prices on items because they are dying to take a loss, or even make less money, on particular items, or because they just have really big hearts. They are doing it so that you will come into their store, and perhaps buy more things that are not on sale.
Might the sales people for Logos try to sell you on other Logos products, while they have you on the line? Almost certainly. They are "sales people." If you want a potential discount on their products in this sale, it might actually mean you have to hear about some other products Logos has available. If that is too great a cost for you, don't participate.
Faithlife is a very good, generous company. I have no doubt they desire to serve the church, and the Christian community. However, a major motivation of companies is, and needs to be to make money. That, when kept in perspective, is a good thing. It means they will have longevity (because maintaining a business costs money). It also means that they remain driven to improve their product as competitors continue to improve on competing products.
All this to say, Faithlife doesn't owe you, or me, or anyone, a sale price on anything. If you don't like the terms of the sale, don't participate. I DO understand that some here want to use this forum to let Faithlife know that a sale of this type doesn't motivate them to want to be involved. However, the tone of some of the complaints in this thread sound a lot more like a sense of entitlement than just informing.

1. As my family will attest to, I not perfect in my form or attitude of complaining, from time to time. When I'm coming across wrong, I do appreciate this being pointed out to me, which is the reason for my post.
2. I do know that you do in fact have a "right" to complain here, however you want, as long as it meets the guidlines of the forum. However, as I said in disclaimer 1, I sometimes need someone to point out that the tone people are hearing from me may not be what I want it to be.

I would probably have bought the IVP OT dictionaries as a whole had they not been withdrawn, bummer. Does anyone know if I were to but the ones that are still on sale, would this give me a better dynamic price if I bought the withdrawn dictionaries through their bundle offer, would it give me a better dynamic price or would it cost me more?

I purchased the 6 IVP dictionaries on sale so I can give you that answer. I'm very thankful that these volumes were on sale. These dictionaries were on my wishlist. It's my first multi-volume dictionary. AYBD is also on my list, but I think IVP is good enough for now.

That (8-volume) dynamic price is based on the regular list price of $329.99 for the collection.
If you put that set, and any L7 library in the cart, you can get an idea what the upgrade offer price would be. It would probably lower it to around $57 for the remaining two IVP dictionary volumes.
If you have bought an L7 base package or library recently, I've been told that FL will pass along the upgrade offer price after the fact. (One of the many reasons why calling in can get you a better deal.)
AYBD is also available at an L7 upgrade offer price, but it's bundled in many libraries, which effectively drops its price down to $4, providing that you also need other sets from that bundle.

Real fizzer including the mystery deals. Someone email me telling me about the great mystery products and to give them a call - hello I emailed because I don't want to call - failing to notice or acknowledge I own all of them. Only one thing in sale offered so far that I don't own and while its on my Wishlist price is not right for me.
