Jerky Video Playback

I have already been enjoying the Verbum Advanced Search Training videos. They are proving to be very helpful already (and I've watched about four so far!).
However, the video playback is incredibly jerky. The audio plays absolutely fine, but the video cannot keep up and jumps every 1-2 seconds. It's a minor inconvenience, but an annoying one nonetheless!
I downloaded all the media, but that didn't make any difference.
The only workaround is to watch them at biblia.com which seems to playback without any problems.
Is this a known issue? Is there an easy fix!?
Thanks

I've noticed there are some segments inside the individual lessons where there is no movement of the mouse while the explanation is going on. I thought at first this was an issue with the video, but then the mouse would move to a new position/click/menu and the audio seemed to be synced just fine. I would go back a replay the section and it would be exactly the same as before and I did not notice a change, leading me to think that it is how the video was made. In other words, no real problem, just my perception.
Is the "freezing" intermittent and in different spots? What happens if you replay a section that was "freezing"? Does it appear to freeze the same way?

It is most noticeable when the presenters are talking to camera - the video lags and jumps every 1-2 seconds, while the audio continues with a problem. This is continuous through the entire video and replaying doesn't help.
It's not a big deal - I can cope with it and the videos are still exceptionally helpful. It's just really annoying!!

Just wanted to provide a follow-up ... I tried a quick sampling of 4 videos where Fr's Roza and Dalton are presenting in front of the camera (I did not make a note of which ones, sorry) and I am not seeing the jerky motion on playback. Everything appears OK to me so far. I mention also that I have a fairly low-end laptop that's 3+ years old with integrated graphics so there is nothing special about my hardware setup. i3, 4GB Ram, 500 GB HDD.
I wonder if there is any correlation to your hardware configuration or available memory or HDD at the time you are playing the video's?

Thanks Steve. It sounds as though we have very similar hardware setups, and yet my videos do not play very well!
I'm no expert, but from what I can tell around 70% of memory is in use while the videos are playing (not much different when not playing). I have no idea if that's good or not!
I took a screencast to show what is happening - 1016.JerkyVideo.mp4

Richard,
I see what you are saying. That is quite jerky and very different than the smooth presentation I see. Something is definitely wrong.
I'm going to post in the Catholic Forum a link back here in hopes that Louis will see it and provide some helpful guidance.

Try another WiFi channel. See if that helps.
MacOS Sierra / Logos 7 Collector's Edition & All Base Packages / Logos Now

I have very high speed WiFi and I downloaded all the media! I don't have problems with any other type of media.
That said I haven't tried any mobile ed videos for a while. I'll have to do that later when I'm back at my laptop.

FWIW, the videos play fine in the Android mobile app on my Samsung, and that's without downloading.

Hi Richard! Sorry to hear you're having those problems. The videos play smooth for me. The type of problem you are seeing is usually due to codec or driver problems.
Here are a couple of things you can try:
1. Install the K-Lite Codec Pack Full (here's the link: https://www.codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_full.htm). When you install it, it will take a look at your Windows installation, and if it finds any problems it will ask you permission to fix them, to uninstall other codecs that might be causing conflicts, etc. I've found that it's always a good idea to say "yes" if it asks you to fix any problems it found. It will also make sure you have all the necessary codecs and that they are configured correctly to play back just about any type of audio or video file correctly. Most likely, just doing this will fix the problem.
2. Make sure your video drivers are up to date.
3. If these two solutions don't work, then you'll want to try to play the videos in a video player outside of Logos / Verbum. Here's a thread about how to do that: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/87557.aspx.

And.... BOOM! That fixed it, good and proper!
Thank you, Devin, for taking the time to give me that tip.
And a massive thanks for the videos themselves - they are really well made and presented, and I'm learning so much already. It's especially good to be learning why certain searches perform as they do, as well as how to do them! So thanks.
