From this original post:

For those that purchased Logos 7 already, we will honor the "when purchased with a base package" price on L7 bundles for anyone who purchased a base package before the L7 bundles were made available.

No mention that the discount only applies to non-LN members.

From this original post:

We have not yet finalized pricing on L7 bundles, nor have we defined what discounts may be made available.  However, rest assured that we will honor the "when purchased with a base package" price on L7 bundles for anyone who purchased a base package before the L7 bundles were made available.

Again, no indication that the special price for anyone who purchased a base package will only apply to non-LN members.

Yes, Logos Now members who are purchasing a library will be offered bundles on the same terms as non-members who are purchasing a base package.

Our discount turns out to be the same, whether or not we purchased a base package. LN members don't get any discount for having purchased a base package.

Apparently LN members don't get the same terms.

Thanks for the 20% off. Not 35% but better than 15%.

After the long wait, all I get is 15% off?  [:^)]

    Talk about a disappointment. [:(]

Everyone got 50% off the Bundles with the upgrade to Logos6. [:^)]

I am "just about" ready to go the route of several long term users and only buy individual items in the future.

The long wait (delay) was not worth waiting for.

It's interesting that they'll give 25%, 35%, 45%, 50% off on selected "upgrade offers" when purchased with L7, but only 15% with the new topical bundles.

Steep savings only apply to a few select products.

I have gotten the distinct feeling that publishers are "adjusting" to the digital world, and are demanding (requesting) higher royalties for their front listed titles. As we have seen so far two publishers are not allowing dynamic pricing on their titles, Zondervan and Moody.

Just compare Logos 4 & 5 base packages and what they included to Logos 6 &7. Many titles & sets are not included any more! The same seems to go for Accordance packages as well.

We may be heading into a situation where deep discounts are going to be more for public domain titles. Some publishers are already hitting Logos with 70% of the list price for royalties. I'm thankful that I have bought most of what I need!

As you pointed out, certain publishers have control over whether their products can even appear in bundles, simply because they require a higher royalty based on its regular price, instead of a percentage of some sale amount.

I remember when Amazon and Apple could determine pricing for ebooks, and we could get digital editions of hardcover books for $9.99. Now publishers dictate the terms for ebook pricing, and we get the short end of the stick.

Personally, I think this hurts sales. I wish I could buy more WBC volumes, but won't due to lack of dynamic pricing on the collection. I have to wait until Zondervan eventually offers the entire collection on sale, and likely take a $100 loss due to paying twice for the couple of volumes I already own.

We can expect deals to come and go.  Every little bit some new good thing comes along. We needn't fret that everything isn't the best deal right now, the wheel will roll around. Book sellers want maximum profit. They are smart enough not to lose too many sales. Supply and demand will temper prices.  Peace.

I did an online chat with a sales rep today, and he said those who already own a logos 7 base would get an additional 20% off the dynamic price. But shouldnt this be factored in on the website?

Those types of discounts normally automatically get applied when the product is placed in the web site's shopping cart, but it appears that FL has changed that practice.

If sales happens to give you an additional discount, let us know. Otherwise, I think it's just the usual pricing confusion and bad information that results from FL's sudden changes to the discounts.

50%? IIRC I only got 15%. And one time they had a promo where you got 40% off the medium-sized bundles (or was it the large bundles? Something like that; don't quote me - my memory is a mess [:P]). All the same, I was happy for all the times I got any discount off bundles.

Due to constantly needing to get people to buy things, these many different discounts applied to a single product, get more challenging to verify, to determine if a) the price is accurate, and b) the price actually is a good deal.

Yes. But it also hurts current sales, for deferred future sales, since they've offered better promotions in the past, and likely will continue to offer better promotions in the future.

In other words, as long as you can wait to buy something, what's 35% off for this sale, might be 65% off in a future sale. Case in point is this year's Black Friday sale, where they offered better pricing for several items that had previously been on sale for less, earlier in the year.

    You are right.

When I actually take the plunge to buy a bundle, there is no additional discount for Logos 7 ownership. That's a huge disappointment. :(

I think the 50% discount only applied to Portfolio owners.

It did not. I am not a Portfolio owner but got the 50%.  Then again I had a good rep.
