I will confess: I find syntax searching intimidating. I have had a few attempts with it, with some degree of success. But part of the problem, at least for me, is that the interface and the way the parameters work are too different from the other types of searches (notably clause and morph).
I am wondering if there would be any way (and will) at all to redesign the concept so that users will find themselves in a more recognisable environment. For instance, could something similar to the morphology picker be used to build the search?
Syntax search experts can give their opinion as to whether this could work, whether it would be a good thing or not, etc.
I'd be curious to hear also from many users whether they actually use syntax search or -- like me -- might want to but find it too difficult to use.
