Handling unwanted books in base packages?

I need the Anchor Yale Bible (88 vols) and I can save over $600 on it if I buy Lutheran Portfolio (since it is one of the many included resources in that base package). The issue is that I am not Lutheran. I don't have a problem with Lutherans and I am not threatened by having the extra 900+ resources added to my library, but I also don't want them showing up often when doing my normal work (searches, Passage Guide, etc).

I know I am not the first to buy a base package outside of one's denominational leanings because of discounts on wanted resources, so I'm wondering how have others handled this in the past? Just ignore the problem (is it really a problem)? Hide all those resources (that would be a lot of work)? Rely on prioritization to ensure what I really need is near the top? Other options?

Rather than hide the books, it is faster to make a collection of the books you consider core that you wish to search. Depending on your library that might be in the form of something like * ANDNOT mytag:hide ... and you can set the mytag quickly by selecting multiple items and applying the tag to all.

I have a good sized library and don't find it a problem. One of these days you will find some gems in that 900+

Rather than hide the books, it is faster to make a collection of the books you consider core that you wish to search.

It is also faster to hide them and not have to rebuild several hundred unwanted resources, or clutter the resource pickers with them!

I hide all "Images from <book title>" media collections, all Targum bibles, all "xxx from the earliest New Testament Greek Manuscripts" bibles, all Latin and Syriac titles, all denominational liturgy titles (being Pentecostal), and older duplicate titles (from different publishers),

Ah, if you hide all the good stuff ... seriously, I suspect it depends upon your use of Logos. I had originally gone the hide route but found that items I had deemed of little use - Earliest New Testament Greek Manuscripts, all pastoral management titles, most Vyrso titles etc. - were so hard to find to unhide on the rare occasions when I needed them, that the hide technique was more trouble than it was worth. My customized Guides limit the clutter and having a basic library collection limits the search.

I have several other base packages outside of a reformed Baptist and I have a large library. So, what I call fluff another will call gem and what I call gem then they will call fluff. In Logos 7 my guides are populated with other denominations and I spend a lot of time checking those out and surprisingly have found sometimes my belief about something is completely wrong. I personally don't think it's a problem.
