Changes to payment plans for Zondervan products?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know what the go is with down payments on Zondervan products? In my cart right now for a 13 month plan on a total value of $1152 (for WBC and EBC) it's requiring a down payment of $748 (that's 65%!!). When and why did this change and why hasn't this been communicated? I haven't been able to find any mention of it on the FL website.

Not sure. I thought if you had a L7 base package in the cart the down payment wouldn't be that huge. Maybe because there is no L7 package they require a bigger down payment.

It's specific to the WBC. It has had a very steep down-payment, but I don't know if this is an error, or due to some terms that Zondervan required.

Everyone interested in purchasing on a payment plan will find that they can adjust the down payment required, and the related monthly rate and # of payments in the cart. We'll look into updating the product page to display the lowest down payment rate. It's currently displaying the longest term possible.

Glenn, if you look at the payment plan screenshot, the initial payment behaves very differently than it did in the past.

Previously, it used to be nearly identical to the remaining payments, regardless of the term, and decrease, along with the monthly payments.

Now the initial payment actually increases for terms longer than 4 months.

I don't know if this is intentional or not for the WBC, but that might be a bad example to use.

Thanks for for your response on this matter. I knew about this thread and I didn't have any problems with what was explained. I was recently able to do a payment plan for Fathers of the Chunch 127 vols. without a base package and there were no issues with the payment plan. I was able to make a down payment equal to the monthly instalments. What I noticed today was that Zondervan products have a highly disproportionate down payment scale. Yes it requires smaller deposits for shorter terms, but for those who wish to take out longer terms, they are heavily penalised it seems. I was more or less asking if there has been a policy change for Zondervan products and payment plans that we have not been specifically made aware of?

I contacted a sales Rep this morning at FaithLife to check on combining my 11 month, $497 current plan with a new purchase of the WBC volumes I don't currently have, plus the 2 Cor NAC volume I don't have. Total new purchase around $179.

He offered a 5 month stacked at around $35. The only combination option was to shorten my 11 months to 8 months or less with about half down on the new purchases. I would need to keep a 12 month plan to make my budget manageable. A $30 down on new purchase plus the combined balance spread over 12 months would have raised my monthly payment about $9.

The best option is to pay in full when ordering. I probably will have to set this one out and hope it comes around in another year or two. Anyway, I have been trying to get to zero on my payment plan, paying down over $900 in the past 15 months.
