See the attached screenshot. Jonathan Edwards name is missing the final s.
Thanks for the report. I appreciate it.
There are several issues with the sermon tagging. Some of them have been reported elsewhere, but I'll list them below:
What's weird about these references is that the correct creator shows up in the Information Panel, but then when you search, the sermons don't appear. For example a search for {Label Sermon WHERE Creator ~ "Origen"} doesn't find the sermon in Classics of Western Spirituality, despite that sermon appearing in the passage guide, and despite the tagging apparently saying "Origen". The same is true of the other resources listed above. Something weird is going on.
These resources also have inconsistencies (usually because of Lastname, Firstname instead of Firstname Lastname):
Finally, resource "The World’s Great Sermons (10 volumes) often only gives surnames. However, it's often quite easy to work out who is being spoken of, as years of birth/death are given. It would be helpful if this tagging was updated. I'm sure the community would help in identifying who the preachers are, although some of them are quite easy: "Spurgeon (1834-1862)", anyone?
I also noticed two errors that affect one sermon, rather than the whole resource:
I'd also much prefer it if the Jim Wilson quotations books where excluded from this. They're NOT sermons, and including them only adds clutter.

Puts my little bug report to shame. [:$]
I can reproduce this and have filed a bug. Thanks for letting us know.
These resources have the creator as the name of the series, instead of the name of the preacher:
I think this is a display bug in the PG sermons section, not a (widespread) data error in the resources; I've created a case.

Thanks for confirming this. I'm glad the tagging isn't as bad as feared. For clarification, it's likely the same bug effects the first part of the list, too: those resources that have the title in the Passage Guide.
Now, if Kyle's team can fix the remaining metadata issues, I'll be a happy camper...
This may come back as "By Design", as it was changed to grouping by series during the initial beta (from using the resource name).
But since then, there's been a further (undocumented?) change, and most sermons are now displaying by the Creator name, rather than the series/resource name (see this screenshot for the old behaviour). This was a good change, but it obviously needs to be applied consistently.
Thanks Mark. Like Bradley mentioned it's a display bug and not (entirely) a resource issue. I do have have a batch of about 25-35 sermon series that have been updated that I'd like to get out soon. Most of them are on your list. I'm going to look through it and see if I missed any in my own audit.
Thanks for fixing the display bug in 7.3 RC2.
There's still one occasion where the bugfix didn't work — The Venerable Bede: On the Song of Songs and Selected Writings. This volume has the creator label set to "Bede", but still shows the series title in the PG.
Also, now that's fixed, it's exposed a few more metadata errors:
The covers the first two letters in my list ... it looks like an automatic process was run with even a quick visual of the results.
This is caused by a data error; I noticed it at the time and already filed an internal bug.
Mark, MJ--Thanks for the update.
FYI--I've done an audit to account for any resource updates in conjuncture with an update to the display and have about 75 resources ready to go. I have about another 25 that are pending some updates. All of your suggestions were either already completed (but not yet pushed out) or ready to be updated.
Thanks, Kyle. It's great to know you're keeping on top of these issues.
I was doing a search yesterday and noticed that the initial problem of Edward for Edwards has still not been fixed. Indeed I have results from Edwards, Jonathan and Jonathan Edwards as well as Jonathan Edward. I also have Luther, Martin together with Martin Luther. Finally, there is Charles H. Spurgeon and Charles Spurgeon.
Given Mark and MJ's rather comprehensive reports, perhaps the initial problem has been overlooked.
Colin
Not overlooked. I was hoping to do a sweeping push-out of updates at once but perhaps its better to do a gradual roll-out.
Thanks again Kyle. [:)]
Colin.
Just a heads up. We did a massive update of 200–300 sermon resource. We're planning on pushing out the update on Monday, January 30th. While I hope we standardized the creator names there's a chance we missed some. Please let me know if you notice any.
Sorry. Wrong day. I meant Feb. 6 and the update will affect ~340 resources.

I noticed today that the label for this sermon has the creator set to "Stanley Hauerwas" whereas it should be "Paula Gilbert".

Thanks. We made an update. It should be available on or around July 10.
