feedback on pricing structure change

I'm not sure where the best place is to express this sentiment so thought I'd place it here.
First things first -
- I love Logos! it has revolutionized my bible study in ways i couldnt imagine - and I barely scratch the surface of what is possible with the software in my current workflow.
- I have never been treated anything but fairly by any Logos staff I have dealt with on the phone or email. I can tell you are all great people who are passionate about providing an excellent product
- I have loved Logos now and being able to access new features earlier
- Most importantly, I am not angry - Logos certainly has the right to set pricing as they wish, i just want to offer some brief feedback from a user perspective.
so here it is:
I am unfortunately unable to continue with Logos Now because you have killed the monthly subscriptions. I am sure for some people $90-$100 is small potatoes, but for me it is a huge amount to come up with all at one time. I am the sole breadwinner in my home, and I'm in a small rural church (read small salary, no book allowance - not that i'm in ministry for money, just a reality). $8.99 a month was a small luxury that I was able to afford myself because I could pay as I went. I would like to encourage Logos, that i appreciate your right to do what you wish with your product, but if there is any room for discussion on the subject, I would place my vote fully on reinstating monthly subscriptions. For some of us it made accessing those new features possible in a way that a yearly fee just does not.
My opinion is probably worth the cost of admission to this post, but I thought I would share anyhow.

I understand your position and respect your decision. It's understandable.
This sort of post has come up before and always raises a question in my mind: $8.99*12=$107.88, which is > $99-100. By my rough (and could be wrong) calculation, if you place this on a credit card with a 15% annual interest rate and pay $9 a month, the interest charges are pretty much washed out by the lesser cost of subscribing annually. If you can pay more than $9 a month and pay it off quicker, it's definitely a savings advantage.
I realize that some people don't like doing carrying credit card balances, but it's one option to consider.

While it causes a blank year, I'd suggest putting the monthly amount into savings (your own or Faithlife's) and next year you'll have the annual amount. Continue saving and you'll have the subsequent year ... Not ideal but workable.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Nicholas I'm in the same Position like you and understand completly how you feel. I decidet to pay this 89 € this year. I gave it to Jesus for studding his Word even if I have no Job (retired) and no Ministry AND ,most important, also no Money.
The Question for you (and me) is do you realy need the Features in Logos Now for what you are Doing OR is it just nice to have? For me working with Greek and Latin is a great Way to have this Features.

I agree. I decided to drop now because of it. Mainly I don't use it enough to get the benefit but for the same reason I don't want to shell out $90-$100 all at once. I'm guessing they are doing it to gauge their spending for the year. Get all the money now and figure out how to spend it later

Nicholas, I am in the same situation as you and I will just let it go because I personally liked $8.99 per month, no credit cards/interest, etc, needed. It was convenient. I'm better to respond now as when I learned it was going away, lets just say I was not happy AT ALL.

I'm on the Dave Ramsey plan, so no credit cards for me. I do have a lingering payment plan with Logos that I'm working on getting rid of, but that is it. My monthly payment was on a debit card, so no interest or fees. If i want to continue with Logos now in the future, I'll have to miss a whole year while I save up the cash. The extra $10 over the course of a year was worth it so that I could keep the payment regular, but small.
Like I said, I'm not angry - Logos has a business to run, so they can do as they need to do. It just wasn't a good move for me as a consumer.

I may try to do that, but missing a years worth of features wont be nearly as fun as getting to see whats developing in advance [:)]

You probably would not want me to say "I told you so". But it seems to me that this is the risk intrinsic to subscription: terms can change and put you in a bind if it no longer works for you.
I am not saying this to rant but to suggest that this is an illustration of the sort of potential problems that made me choose to remain off the subscription track.
I buy what I can afford and am free to use it whether or not my finances change. With respect also to the posters who made the suggestion, I think that adjusting to the change by using credit on a card is to do the same mistake twice over.

I don't feel totally in a bind, because i still own all my resources, and I did "lock in" the feature set that LogosNow had provided up until the release of Logos7. I just really enjoyed getting to see what way the software was developing and learning new features incrementally as they were released rather than having a steep learning curve at every major release date.

Personally, I would try to get a refund and apply it to a LN membership.

Same here. I like Logos, but their pricing structure changes every year and usually not in my favor. This latest one with the Logos Now membership made me realize that I don't need it. I don't use Logos nearly as much as I use my Bible and used books I picked up for almost nothing. I've been a student (and teacher) of Scripture for almost 25 years and don't intend to stop because of Logos. I don't believe God intended for us to have to worry over money He gives us for the latest and greatest so that we may understand His written Word. Sure, it is nice to have, but not entirely necessary. Hope this helps.

I don't think I understand what you mean. I would say that this is the first time there has been a pricing structure change since I have been using Logos. Can you explain? I think I am missing what you are trying to say.

Thank you! Sorry for the confusion. I was trying to say that pricing in general goes up every year with each new upgrade and it is getting more difficult to acquire updated resource. The small monthly fee of the Logos Now membership was a blessing with my small ministry budget.
