Miroslav Volf (b. 1956, Croatia) - formerly a professor at Fuller Theological Seminary, currently the Henry B. Wright Professor of Theology at Yale University Divinity School and Director of the Yale Center for Faith and Culture; widely known for his works on systematic theology, ethics, conflict resolution, and peace-making; studied at Evangelical-Theological Faculty, Zagreb (B.A), Fuller Theological Seminary (M.A), and University of Tübingen (Dr. Theol., Dr. Theol. habil.), where he studied under Jürgen Moltmann.

His book Exclusion and Embrace, was selected as among the 100 best religious books of the 20th Century by Christianity Today.

(all of the above from Wikipedia, reordered)

Books of his I would like to see in a collection:

  • Exclusion and Embrace: A Theological Exploration of Identity, Otherness, and Reconciliation
  • The End of Memory: Remembering Rightly in a Violent World
  • Free of Charge: Giving and Forgiving in a Culture Stripped of Grace
  • Work in the Spirit: Toward a Theology of Work
  • After Our Likeness: The Church As the Image of the Trinity
  • God's Life in Trinity (editor, with Michael Welker)
  • Practicing Theology: Beliefs and Practices in Christian Life (editor, with Dorothy Bass)
  • The Future of Theology: Essays in Honor of Jurgen Moltmann (editor)

Actually, an alternative possible grouping of the first three of these would be with a collection on peace and reconciliation theology. I'll create a separate post for that.

Bump! I'm glad to see that a couple of these are available now (links added). But the rest still need attention.

And another couple of news one by him since I posted that list (these links are to the Amazon/Kindle edition):

Thanks Rosie for the summary of works by Volf.  Here is another one co-authored by him that appears on the Vyrso site:

Public Faith in Action: How to Think Carefully, Engage Wisely, and Vote with Integrity  by Miroslav Volf and  Ryan McAnnally-Linz

Yes, I just noticed that one the other day and bought it. Neglected to add it to the list of ones already in Vyrso because it wasn't one of the ones I'd initially requested.
