Geneva Bible Notes - English Bible Collection
In the recently released English Bible Collection there is a Geneva Bible as well as the Geneva Bible notes file. I wonder if the Bible / Notes are from the 1599 Bible edition. The publishing date in both files read 1555. Also, can the notes file be converted to an actual Logos notes file?
Here's the reason for my curiousity. Back in 2007 a group of eleven of us Logos fans under the direction of Joseph Nally took on the masochistic task of typing in the complete notes file from the 1599 Geneva Bible. They were in the form of a Logos notes file and were later put in the Logos Wiki.
I just checked and I can't locate the file any longer.
The notes file released with the English Bible Collection does not agree with the file we donated. However, I have a (text) reproduction of the 1599 Geneva Bible and our notes file agree with the notes in the print Bible. So that's the reason for my curiosity.
Our file was used with permission of the church who originally placed it on the web and at the time Logos did not raise any objection to Joseph and the team placing it on the Wiki.
Just wondered why our file is no longer around and also why Logos opted to "reinvent the wheel" so to speak.

I don´t have the collection but I do have this bible: As you can see it is labeled 1599, but when you look at the title page, it lists MDLX (1560) as the publication date. [^o)]

I'm not sure why the resource id is 1599. It may be that we originally planned to do the 1599 edition but then acquired materials for the 1560 edition and produced it instead.
At any rate, the Geneva Bible included in the English Bible Collection is the 1560 edition.
I don't know anything about the files on the wiki so I'll be looking into that. Based off the way it was described it sounds to me like they're two different editions so your version should be posted.

Okay, I think I have the answer. In the first place, the file that is the 1599 Geneva Bible was released quite some time ago. I have it too. It was released by the E4 Group, a publisher known for not going to a great deal of trouble in developing a resource. Their Geneva Bible reflects that. Tom, I believe you'll find the first page of your Geneva Bible says E4 or Ephesians 4 and not Logos.
The Geneva Bible released recently with the English Bible Collection is apparently the 1560 version. The wordage of the Bible is slightly different than the 1599 version, but the notes are considerably different. Much more extensive.
This brings us to the 1599 notes which I have in Logos notes file format. I wonder if anyone recalls when we typed the 1599 notes up and might recall if they were ever put in the Wiki. I hate to submit them at this point for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is the confusion that might result from someone using the 1599 notes with the 1560 Bible.
Interesting that the Logos employee who I just spoke with had no idea what a Logos notes file was. Are notes files no longer supported? Those with the 1560 Geneva Bible might wish to save the 1560 notes as an actual notes file. I don't even recall how that is done.

Are you confusing that with personal books (PBB from Libronix is not compatible with Logos 4+).

No! Notes are available in Bible resources under Visual Filters / Notes and Highlights.

I vaguely recall Personal Books. The presence of a note pops up as a yellow icon next to the Bible verse it's attached to. Moving your cursor over the icon displays the note. Very handy, but not widely used these days for whatever reason. I learned today personal notes are stored in the cloud along with your other information which is stored there.

I don't know for certain as I don't follow all the shared documents groups - but if anyone wants them, I can certainly make them available.
