Installing Logos 4 on a Mac with Parallels

I recently attended a Camp Logos workshop in Las Vegas and purchased the Logos 4 upgrade for PC, hoping to upgrade from version 3 to version 4 on my Mac using Parallels. When I bought the disc I thought it was unusual to have the Windows 4.0 and the Mac 4.0 Alpha version on the same disc, which may be the problem. Only the Mac 4.0 Alpha version will install on my Macs. I am running Parallels 5.0 with Windows XP. Can you help? Thanks

Wonder if CD/DVD is available for Parallels virtual machine ? (perhaps insert disc after starting virtual machine)

Apologies should have asked earlier: what help do you seek ? Curious what is / is not working ?

By the way, many applications have Windows and Mac versions on same disc - use appropriate installers for each platform (with same resource files for both platforms).

Observation: for problems with Parallels (e.g. virtual machine settings), this forum "Logos 4 Mac" good place for help. For issues with Logos 4 installation and startup on Windows, "Logos 4" forum may be better place to seek help (larger user base).

For Windows, currently Logos 4 available in shipping version: 4.0a SR-3 and beta version: 4.0b Beta 7 ("Logos 4" forum has "PC Beta" area for discussing beta issues), both available for download.

Mitch, I since this is a L4Win install problem, I personally would move this to the L4 forum where the real gurus live. When you start your new post, give them as much information as you possibly can, including the specs of your machine, and the version of parallels and the version of the windows VM you are trying to install L4Win in.

Wondering if disc can be read by Windows in Parallels ?

If not, wonder if other software installed in Windows to prevent optical media access ? (e.g. anti-virus or malware)

By the way, for my Windows XP virtual machines, created new ones using Windows XP disc - only accessing Microsoft (automatic updates) and Logos web sites so not running anti-virus software. When not using Logos in Windows, placing vm in suspended state - easy to switch between Logos 3, 4.0a, and 4.0b.

Other thought if disc cannot be read in Parallels - wonder if Parallels virtual machine settings allow virtual machine to use optical drive ?

In the Parallels "Devices" menu, you will find an item to connect the DVD drive to Windows.Keep Smiling—a very observant fellow—has already given you my other advice. The best advice in that thread, however, comes from John Fidel.
