Suggestion: Custom Default Layout

Please add the ability to define a "new" customized "default" layout that the user can set to open instead of the current default layout.

I would like to be able to type a scripture reference or Bible passage in the passage box on the home page and have a custom layout - of my own making - open and search the Logos 4 resources I have specified.

If this is possible now, please let me know how. Thanks

This is very closely related to the suggestion that I made a couple of days ago about being able to select a layout of choice for the reading plan. Technically if they do one, then the other should be really easy. I +1 this!

I agree completely. I have a widescreen monitor and end up dragging and dropping a vertical tiled layout every time. I would love to save that as "my default layout" or something and have it prefered.

Can't you save all this as a Layout and then select it from the Layout Menu?

Fully agreed... This was the first thing I tried (& tried...) to do upon updating. Not having this feature makes it so that you must either neglect the benefit from version 3 (opening program to default view) or neglect [using fully] the benefit of version 4 (homepage). This aside... I LOVE the update!

I'm looking for this feature now.... it's nice that I could keep the last layout used and open it... but it would be better if I could have the custom default layout.

Another vote for a custom default layout. I'm guessing it was just a minor oversight (or maybe there is some hidden option for this), so hopefully they will release this option ASAP.

Have there been any updates to Logos 4 yet? Many of us, I'm sure, are eagerly awaiting for these updates. Should be exciting as they roll out!

I was just looking for a way to do just this and came across this thread through a Google search. If this has been implemented, I haven't figured out how to do it. If it hasn't, I'm casting another vote for the option to save a custom default layout.

I agree. And I STRONGLY AGREE that we should be able to tie layouts into reading plans, so clicking a reading plan will automatically launch that reading plan and the associated layout.

What you can already do is to save your preferred arrangement as a named layout which you can call up with <alt-a + short unique identifier>. I have a number of such layouts for various purposes. The advantage of this is that you can have numerous layouts for different uses. If you want a layout, e.g., for reading the Greek NT, you can name it "GNT" then call it up with <alt-a + "GNT">. If you have only one layout beginning with the letter "G", you can enter simply <alt-a + "G"><enter>.

Didn't know you could use shortcut keys to switch layouts. Got to check if that works on Mac the next time I open Logos.
