What does upgrading to Logos 7 mean for an iPad user?
i use logos/verbum on my iPad mostly. Other than resource are there any additional benefits or iOS app features by upgrading to Logos 7?

Two that I can immediately think of
- access to continuous scrolling in Text Comparison
- read access to Sermon Documents (assuming the level of Logos 7 purchased enables the Sermon Editor)

Can sermon documents be shared? If so can they be 'read' by those who don't have the Sermon Editor?

They can be shared but it looks like not exactly as Notes can be.
At Documents.logos.com I see an option to set a Sermon Document to Collaborate which allows others to edit the document.
Notes have the option to be Published which, I think, just allows others to get a copy.
You could get close to this with Sermon Documents by making a duplicate and then collaborating with that.
I don't know if this distinction is a consequence of a design decision.
Once a sermon document was "collaborated" I would expect it to be readable on mobile apps but I haven't had the opportunity to check

Ok that makes sense that it can be shared in a collaborative sense. I was thinking about a user who does not have Sermin Editor but being able to read on mobile device. Arguments exists for both for and against that scenario that probably should be taken up in another thread, I was just more interested in if it was possible. Thanks Graham.

Are we talking about the most current iOS version (5.12.3)? Or something in Logos/Verbum 7?

I'll try to clarify.
Ive been a Logos user since Logos 3 and have upgraded to 4,5, and 6.
My use of 5 and 6 were very minimal, and other than getting some more resources, it was probably a waste of my money, for how little I use Logos on my mac.
Where I primarily use Logos is in my iPhone and iPad, and mostly just for reading.
My question is: If I upgrade to Logos 7 on my Mac, I will likely NOT get any benefit from the new features (since I don't use anything but an iPad anymore). However, what are the features that translate over to the iOS version, if any?
Or or put more simply, for someone who uses only the ios version, is it worth it to upgrade to Logos 7?

Since you're using your iOS devices for reading, and aren't using Logos on your Mac anymore, it's not worth it to pay to upgrade your Mac base package.
What you can do is install the free Logos 7 Basic package, which will upgrade the Mac version to Logos 7 (and give you access to a few books and features which you may already have).

This has been a major oversight in my mind, there have been very few improvements to the iOS version indeed planned improvements have been canceled and it feels to me that the app has been put in a holding pattern. Several times we heard that improments were canceled due to reduced staffing levels. To me it feels like FL feels it's web app is the mobile version of the future which in the future may be feature close to the desktop APP though it will never have personal books or offline usage if I have understood it rightly. So Logos Now the only way to get the web app may offer you a better option than 7.

A web app is a poor replacement for a native app.

While it's true that Logos Now is the only way to get access to the web app, the web app experience is not better than the desktop or the mobile user experience.

I can't give you a good answer, but hopefully I can clarify something.
In previous cycles, users would purchase a "base package," which provided access to BOTH books (resources) AND resources (features). With the advent of Logos 7 these have been broken into two separate purchase. Users can buy "libraries" (resources) and/or "feature sets." Additionally, there is "Logos Now," which is a membership program providing many benefits, including access to all past, current, and future features for the duration of the membership period.
When you ask "If I upgrade to Logos 7," you have to explain what you mean. There are four possibilities:
- Purchasing a new Library. For mobile, this will mean new resources.
- Purchasing a feature set. I don't know what advantage you may gain, but it is minimal.
- Subscribing to "Logos Now." This will provide you with anything a "feature set" purchase would, but potentially more.
- Purchasing "Logos Basic" (free!). This will provide you access to the L7 core engine, plus temporary access to a few resources.
At a minimum, you should get Logos Basic... unless you don't use the desktop application at all. Even if your usage is rare, it is advised to update.
FWIW - FL should provide some sort of list to assist mobile users to know what could be gained by various purchases.

Incorrect. Web app also available through a cloud subscription. Verbum version of Web App also available through Verbum Now and Verbum Cloud. Finally there is a cut down version of Web App with Noet branding. I am not sure if is available freely to everyone or tied into having either a cloud or now subscription or owning a Noet research library.
