Need some help on the Puritans

I'm asking this because I don't know. I'm looking for Puritan writers who write about a high view of Christ. Who display a pastoral style and have a deep sense of God's sovereignty in all things. That might be a given, but like I said I'd like to dig deeper into Puritan theology and their practical writings.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    While you are waiting, and since your milk deliveries imply a map (and granted, this map from the wrong country), I'm enjoying my new resource. Note how close the dates ... Puritans, Baptists. And oddly enough even the slaves.  The whole thing was fairly compressed.

    That is pretty much a given with most puritan writings. I'd recommend Joel Beeke's A Puritan Theology to guide you in the right direction. Packer's Among God's Giants is also excellent, but I don't think that's in Logos yet.

    I second Mark's suggestion on Beeke. Came here to say the same thing. I haven't looked at Packer's book, but he's pretty much always outstanding when the pen hits the paper.

    I would recommend John Flavel, starting with volume 1:
