I don't know of any plans to update the document browser but Sermon fields are searchable as per https://community.logos.com/forums/p/136221/881991.aspx#881991

I seem to recall someone from Faithlife (I don't remember who) posted something in the second half of 2016 to the effect that there were significant changes planned that would address most of the concerns typically raised about document management. There was no ETA for when those changes would be implemented, but I do believe from that post that something is in the works.

The Key to that statement was there was no ETA. Even with an ETA I don't hold my breath when it comes to FL.
