Indexing 0%

For days on one of my systems (I run Logos from multiple systems), the indexing has remained at 0% and will not budge. I've tried restarting Logos, but nothing changes. I'm not so sure it's actually indexing, but the little circle remains and says "Your Library is indexing (0% complete)."

Have you restarted the computer? If so, and if that doesn't fix it, we will need more info. What specific version of which OS? Which specific version of the current Logos engine? See my signature line to learn about enabling and posting logs.

When i read your post I fired up my stable version of the program and it too did not start to index. Restarting and Rebooting did not help.

But when I enabled logging the thing fired up and away it went.

A couple of years ago we had a similar hitch that was cured by the extra steps needed to ensure that logs were collected. I wonder if this is a similar case. Please let us know if when you install the 'Logging Facility' everything starts to work.

I'd like to piggy back on what others have stated as well and if turning on logging does not get the indexer started, please post the logs in this thread and we can take a look at what's happening and diagnose from there. The indexer log is about 10 minutes long in that, and things look normal. Would you be able to post logs after about 30~ minutes of sitting at 0%? They may contain a bit more info.

That's the same zip file as before. You need to Click "Archive Logs" in the Logos Logging Utility to get a new set (assuming that Logos is still indexing).

I hesitate to suggest this but you need to remove the index folder /Users/kennicon/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/v1akej71.7f3/LibraryIndex and then restart Logos; which will then try to index all 18300 resources!

I would like to piggyback on what Dave stated to give a bit of context. Your indexer logs are showing an "invalid handle to path" error when trying to read/write from the files located in your LibraryIndex folder. The specifics on why that's the case can be any number of reasons (most error codes in this regard are more along the lines of "IT BROKE DON'T KNOW WHY WHAT DO" and less "This is broken here, please fix this to resolve.").

You may want to try running the "rebuild index" command before deleting the folder outright, as the command removes and recreates your index from scratch. If after running that, the experience seems to repeat (sitting at 0%) then a removing the folder is a good first step.

Thank you guys so much for your help. This is on my church office computer, thankfully, so before I go home tomorrow I can run everything and leave it to do it's thing over the weekend. I will let you know on Monday how it all turns out.
