I have had this problem since A4. I go to download and install the update, and it appears to do so until the install portion, where it says that there is an error and that it didn't install.
Download the manual update from the release notes and drag the application to the Applications folder

for an uninstall, what all needs to be uninstalled? If you were going to totally go fresh, how can you do it?
