I'm still debating whether to purchase this set or not. Any thoughts or reviews on the titles include? Are they really worth it or are they something for special studies only and won't be using them as much?
DAL, I don't have those particular volumes. I do find Carson to always be thorough, which is helpful for any research/study. he is also reformed leaning and is steadfast in that perspective. those works look to be a mix of specialized and slightly more general works. It would be up to you--do you think the works sound interesting to you. (Discourse Analysis, anyone? Learning about Christ's supremacy in a world that does not accept someone saying they have supremacy? etc) Maybe some of the books you won't use, but others you will--then calculate the total cost divided by the books you want and see if that per book price seems like a good deal to you (and all the benefits that come with Logos searching, etc).
Enduring Authority of the Scriptures is worth it alone. It is an incredible work. This is a good article: https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/inerrancy-is-a-place-to-live
Have you read it or are you saying that because of the good article? If it was based on reviews, I'd say I'm still undecided because some say is more academic and not for the lay person and others complain that is not really about the "Authority" of Scriptures as the title claims, but rather about the "Inerracy" of Scriptures. Over all, is not that bad of a deal, but I'd rather use that money on something more practical. I'm just waiting for the champion and runner up to be revealed to finish up choosing what I'm going to buy from the competition, which didn't turn out to be so bad as I thought in the beginning.
I may just take advantage of the buy 1 get 1 or buy 2 get 2 sale being offered by the competition and get the 49 volume Welwyn Commentaries, Olford Stephen Deluxe preaching bundle, Ironside preaching bundle and the Rose Publishing graphic resource vol. 1&2 and I'll add the Stanley Horton bundle to top it off. My sales person there offers me an additional 15% off the "Bogo" sale and 30% off the Stanley Horton bundle. I think I could use that more than the Carson volume and the other mixbag of practical and theological books. I really have plenty of Carson so wouldn't mind passing on his MM2017 bundle. There's always other sales at Logos anyway.
So spending a little on the competition and buying all the MM2017 items I currently have in my shopping cart plus the runner up and champion's resources, I should be able to use that more than the other stuff.
Yep, I think that's what I'll do...hehehe...talk about being undecided on this one
Blessings!

I'd be looking more closely at the publication dates of some of these. For instance, "Biblical Greek Language and Linguistics: Open Questions in Current Research" is from 1993. It is not that current especially considering that Linguistics theory keeps on moving.
And that's another factor to consider. Besides, I use Greek for sermon preparation, not for Academic papers (don't have to write those anymore and already have some material that I'm barely using). That and looking at other volumes here and there has lead me to the conclusion that I will be skipping this bundle for now. Maybe next year if they add something more interesting and some of the newer works that have been published.
Thanks!
PS. BTW, Love in Hard Places and other 6 books by Carson are free on TGC website. PDF, but hey, some books you just want to read...Google it...hehehe
I pulled the trigger on the bogo sale the competition has going intil the 31st of this month. Finally got a hold of the Welwyn Commentaries, Stephen Olford Preaching Bundle Deluxe, Rose Publishing Vol. 1 & 2 (54 graphics resources), Dean Weaver's Sermons all these with an additional 30% off the bogo sale price. In addition to these I added the Stanley Horton bundle and The Power of Multisensory Preaching that both also had 30% off!
Now, I'm just waiting for the champion and runner up to be announced and I should be able to get some of their resources along with what I already have in my Logos shopping cart 🛒 This has been a great and crazy March Madness! 👍😁👌
WHT bogo sale am I missing?
