help with searching in logos mac (seeking tips, tricks, or suggestions)

I am fairly new to bible software. I have owned quickverse for the past year, but that is poorly written software and the only redeeming feature is being able to search PDF documents. Anyway, I just bought logos for mac and now have the old 1.2.2 version and the new alpha version. I bought the software to assist me in writing 15 sermons for my last semester of bible college at the international house of prayer university.

I have to write these sermons on the identity of Jesus in the scriptures as Bridegroom, King, and Judge (5 sermons on each). Does anyone have any tips or ideas on how to best search my library for those faces of Jesus? Is there any tips on terminology or types of resources to search for content on these subjects?

I have tried searching for "Jesus as bridegroom" or "Jesus the bridegroom" as well as the same method for King and judge and its not really pulling the right info up.

I appreciate any tips, tricks, or suggestions that those experienced in bible software may have for me.

Conducting a search with the KJV only will only give you two hits for "Jesus & Bridegroom". Other Bibles will give three, but all of them are parallel passages. You will need to find your material in theology books.

I gather this means that you are not running the Windows version. I have a Theology collection that was created in Windows. Searching it for "Jesus & Bridegroom" gives 410 hits. If I run the same search on the entire library, I get 37,000 hits. Obviously, this is way too many to check.

Take a couple of good Theology books and scan the Table of Contents for the information you need. Better yet, open those resources and conduct a search in "All Open Resources". That should limit the hit to something more manageable.

If this does not make sense, let me know, and I will see if I can write this in simpler form.

I have the Scholars Library with a few added resources and I did a basic search. I typed "Jesus Bridegroom" in the search bar and hit enter.

I got 7805 results in 705 articles (.63 seconds for what it's worth). While that is more than I need, at a glance, it looks like most of them should be available in your library.

I don't know if that helps or not. Jack has a great suggestion above for trimming down your resources.

thanks for your comments, but I was hoping for more insight than that. Anyone can do a basic search by placing two words next to each other, but most of the results are not anywhere near what I am looking for. Unfortunately the topic of Jesus identity as bridegroom, king, and judge are not that commonly studied or preached, which is sad because bible study should revolve around the study of Christ.

I was looking for more sophisticated search methods like the various options of placing AND or NEAR in the search field. I don't even know all what you can do in that realm because I haven't seen a list of the options.
