I found this a useful volume, which would benefit from being able to link all the scriptures, ancient literature, etc.
Reading Genesis 1-2: An Evangelical Conversation
Would love to see it in Logos.
Great suggestion. [Y]
Reading the online Reviews, I'd buy it.
mm.
Reading the online reviews, it seems same as many other books. Probably interesting, anyway.
What I have understood, the creation/origin/fall stories in Africa are quite local. But all our discussion of Genesis is based on the idea that Genesis tells about origins of the whole world and the whole mankind. What if Genesis tells about the origins of the Adam's tribe? I have not seen any book from that point of view [:(]
Actually, there's a lot about that, at least, historically. Isaac LaPeyrere first proposed that Genesis was only a history of the Jews, not the entire world, way back in 1655 (Latin; 1656, English). Check out Livingstone, Adam's Ancesters: Race, Religion, and the Politics of human Origins.
Agreed, great suggestion!
Thanks Ben, this seems to be worth reading and a good reference for my study!
I would like to see this in Logos some day!
