For those who may have experience with both. Which do you like best, Morris Proctor's material or John Fallahee's material? Is it worthwhile to buy both?
I have some of both. I find John's easier to understand and better at teaching me but Morris's reference books are good - after I know what I want to do but have forgotten how to do it. Morris imho produces more polished work than John but (again imho) John seems to get on with it quicker and I spend less time to learn the same. If I had to chose between them then I would go for John but both are good and I'm surre others could quite easily argue the opposite :-)
I like and use both but I would go with Morris if I had to pick.
I bought a used copy of Morris Proctor's Camp Logos 1 and thought it was the best training series I had ever seen. But, I just ordered John Fallahee's Logos 7 package on pre-pub for 20% of what Camp Logos 2 would cost me. As an old retired person on a fixed income, price has to be a factor in my Logos related purchases.
I've attended Camp Logos with Morris, and bought his DVDs and manuals. All were great products, and I recommend them.
I also bought LearnLogos CD's from John, and have corresponded with him several times. Love his work, and its a great reference when I need to refresh on a feature. Additionally, his free webinars are killer. Also highly recommended.
If I were starting from scratch, and if I felt I had the determination to spend a little time everyday viewing/reviewing a few short videos: I'd buy LearnLogos.... John's stuff is the most cost efficient training resource (aside from the free videos at logos.com. However, don't discount the attraction of Morris' Camp Logos as an intensive fire hose of training that is away from the other distractions of life.
I have purchased training materials from both. Had learnlogos been around when I first needed instruction, I would have gone that route exclusively due to cost. Both trainers are very good. It is possible to try both before buying and also to compare length of time of instruction for both and also what is covered by the instruction, i.e. how to use Logos features and also how to perform a host of different kinds of studies. In short, best bang for my buck has been learnlogos. John answers your emails quickly.
Thank you all for your replies. Very helpful! [:D]
I like Morris for the way he puts everything in Logos under one tent in the manuals. Subjects are cataloged for easy reference. But I think were John excels is in his webinars where he makes the training practical by showing how it relates to a typical bible study or sermon prep. The webinars are free. You get to road test the material before you buy. It is like holding a book in your hand and are actually able to see if it fits your needs John is very accessible in answering questions and is very personable. I like what Morris and John bring to the table, and I have purchased training from both of them, but if price was my only factor then I would choose John. But having said that...I would also consider the two Logos mobile education courses on Matthew 4 and Jonah 1. They are free and will make you efficient enough to use the software to study the bible. It is easy to forget that the goal is not to be a master user of Logos software but to be able to use the software to be mastered by the Word of God.
Mobile Ed just shipped the Logos Academic Training Bundle. These courses are mostly screencast videos that help you use Logos Bible Software for specific academic tasks:
The Logos Academic Training series consists of four short courses designed to help you get the most out of Logos Bible Software. The courses are task focused, showing you how to use Logos to accomplish specific academic undertakings. You can watch each course individually or work through all four in sequence using the Courses Tool.
Getting Oriented with Logos Bible Software (LT101) introduces the software’s tools and capabilities, showing you how to begin by organizing your research with Logos. Studying a Passage with Logos Bible Software (LT102) walks you through different ways to use Logos to study the Bible—an essential task. Studying a Topic with Logos Bible Software (LT103) demonstrates how to do a topical study with Logos. Finally, Organizing and Presenting Research with Logos Bible Software (LT104) takes you through the final steps of applying what you’ve learned by sharing it with others through academic papers, crafting a sermon, or any other type of presentation, using proper citations along the way.

Looking forward to Camp Logos 1 and 2 in Colorado Springs 22 - 24 May 2017 => http://mpseminars.com/events/
Thankful for training options plus Thankful for many friendly forum discussions: have learned a lot plus have a lot to learn.
Keep Smiling [:)]
Does anyone have the Morris Proctor training manuals for Logos 7. I'm considering the digital versions, and wondered if they are any good. I already have his Logos 6 paper manuals and Learn Logos training videos for Logos 6.
I need to decide whether to go for a pre order on the Learn Logos 7 video set, or the Morris Proctor training manuals and I appreciate any advice.
John, could you perhaps confirm if the videos for Logos 7 will include ipad compatible videos again this time, and whether they will cover Logos Now features.
thanks
Duncan
John's training is the clear choice, he touches topics MP doesn't go near and is so much better value for money.
Many years back, I purchased some of John's CDs and really liked them. They cover pretty much everything and are very clear. They allow you to learn at your own pace but unfortunately, I did not take the time to go through all of them.
The advantage of Morris' camps is that one actually takes the time to learn. But the cost is just prohibitive.
So if I invest in some more training, John is the clear choice.
