Building Personal Books

In the box that pops up in Logos where you put in all the details of a particular personal book you are about to build there is an item dealing with the "Type" of book that is being built. Several options are given from an Ancient Manuscript down to a Thesaurus.

My question is - how do you distinguish between various types of books for example what does the word Apparatus refer to or Bible Apparatus and where would one choose to place an atlas? Is there any extended help on this important part of building a book as I assume one needs to get the designation right for the book to work properly within Logos.

Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.

I don't believe it makes a great deal of difference - except if you were wanting to refine your search by the "type" of document. I don't know that anyone would have the material for an 'apparatus' type personal book but I might be wrong.

Actually there's more than that. For the book to work properly in Logos, it needs to have the correct tagging which the PB compiler turns into the index data Logos works with. A bible or a bible commentary will need so called milestonmes to make a bible index, a dictionary will need headwords to form a headword index, a daily devotional will need dates etc. See http://wiki.logos.com/Personal_Books
