Inspired by David Paul's advice in one of the other Community Pricing threads, I decided to not sit passively by and instead start to advocate for the CP offerings that interest me. Perhaps get some hype going.
This bundle, Medieval and Mythological Bestiary Studies, has sat idle in CP for quite awhile (judging by an old forum post, perhaps years). While it's understandably not in everyone's area of research interest, I nonetheless am sure that there must be more interest in it than it has yet received.
Despite the title, this collection seems as if it will not only shed light on animal symbolism in the Medieval period, but has something valuable to say about its role in ancient Greek thought as well. In understanding this symbolism, we would have one more piece of the puzzle as to how people of these time periods thought about the world and the values that defined it. Further, in seeing how Medieval peoples turned God's Truth into visual codes, their understanding of the Bible may be further illuminated. What's more, these studies in art and folklore help illuminate the thought of more common men and women than those who typically recorded their beliefs (royalty, the clergy, and monastics).
In fact, I'm so positive I have reduced my bid from $16 (the current projected final price) to the even more affordable $10 in the hope of driving down the price for us all (and attracting new interest once enough people cause the $10 bid to spike).
May God bless this endeavor.
