Why don't the notes i make in the NIV show up in other translations?
Notes can be attached to a reference, or a selection. If a note is attached to a reference, it will appear in all versified resources. If attached to a selection, it will only appear attached to that specific selection (i.e. the character, word, phrase, etc. in that specific resource, at that exact location).
If your question is desktop related, there is a new feature which will allow you to possibly see the note in other translations. Is that the case?
You are probably creating the note by "selection". If you want a note or highlight to be visible for all of your Bibles, you have to create your note by "reference". The distinction between the two is evident when you scroll over the upper right part of the pop-up window. Look on the right. The word "SELECTION" or "REFERENCE" will display next to the text.
The way to remember the difference is to consider that every Bible has a John 3:16 reference, but not every Bible uses the same selected words.

I don't remember when it was released or how you acquire it. Logos Now makes those things more confusing and so I don't follow as closely as I used to do. The feature requires a reverse interlinear on both resources.

It is currently included in all Logos 7 feature sets includimg that supplied with Logos 7 Basic.

O.K., Alabama, I give up. Rather than 'Bibles', you stipulated 'versified resource'. Can you please give an example of a non-Biblical versified resource? Is this related to resources which participate in Link sets? How does one find them in the library?
Thanks David for starting this thread. I am sure if you persist all will become clear. Alabama 24 and Graham are both patient and persistent.
Because you started this I had a major breakthrough. I don't use Notes much but I do extensive highlighting. Today I learned that I can highlight in one Bible and have the highlights show up in all my favorite Bibles. The rule is that the Bibles have to have interlinear capability. To me, that means no HCSB or CSB.
So this reply doesn't help you at all, but you should be encouraged that someone out there benefited greatly. I love this capability!

I didn't start this thread. I'm just trying to glean as much information on the topic from Alabama and Graham as I can while the subject is on the table.
While highlights are nice, I find it a good practice to attach a note with the highlight so that I know why I decided to highlight. The next time you come through a passage, something entirely different might "hit" you.
I was just reading Leviticus. The end of Chapter 1 mentions that birds could be offered after tearing off the crop and pulling them open by the wings. The resulting aroma was described as pleasing to the Lord. I could highlight until the cows come home and it wouldn't record my surprise that "burning feathers" resulted in a pleasing aroma. The application is that worship is intended to please God, not us. This requires a note.
