I have been thinking about encrypting my hard drive using FileVault on my iMac.
Who here has done this? And if so, have you noticed any performance issues when running Logos?
Thanks!
I use FileVault on my MacBook. There are no issues, although I had it enabled before I started using Logos, so I couldn't say if performance significantly changed.
However, the program is quite responsive and I don't have any issues in general using Logos, so if there was a performance hit, I have no complaints.
(This is all based on a SSD. I can't speak for how it might affect traditional hard disks.)
I encrypted by SSD after reading how easy it is for anybody who finds my laptop to read the data. I haven't noticed any performance issues. Just booting takes a bit longer. But I rarely need to do this with my Macbook Pro.
I'll be using a HDD. I started the process of encrypting it already. I guess I'll let everyone know how it goes.
Well, it finished encrypting....it took forever! Everything seems to work as it did before. I don't have a very powerful computer either - 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3.
Josh, do you know how much hard drive space it took up to encrypt it?
