Here's a summary of improvements we've rolled out over the past two weeks. It's not an exhaustive list, so if I missed anything valuable to you, feel free to mention it!

  • Panels now open to the active reference/location.
  • Site now remembers last opened layout across sessions.
  • Added panel-linking support to Passage Guide, Exegetical Guide, Bible Word Study Guide, & Factbook.
  • Improved behavior of Text Comparison while panel-linked.
  • Added ability to click a word in a Bible and have it open in a linked lexicon.
  • Added serial resource navigation support to the panel reference box and link sets.
  • Added Fuzzy Bible Search results to Bible search.
  • Added entity searching (e.g., <Person Jesus>) to search.
  • Added pericopes, resources (by title), Factbook entries, and search options to the command bar & home page go box.
  • Improved load time of the Before and After interactive.
  • Improved list of commentaries in the Bible+Commentary home page card.
  • Added a link set to the default layout opened when first visiting the site.
  • Added paging to the Dictionaries section of Factbook.
  • Fixed Sign-in screen on Safari and IE.
  • Fixed Passage Guide Journals section failing to load when switching group kind.

Thanks for your continued support and feedback!

    1. Can we get a match/sync LAYOUT from desktop to web-app please? It would save plenty of time for us. (I cant remember everything what I open at home)
    2. Can we get our NOTES in desktop to appear in Web-app please. (not just to make Notes)
    3. It would be nice if Web-app would remember the font size every time I open a book. Reason because I have to slide the font bigger all the time whenever I started a guide or open any books.

    Thank you

    Thanks for the suggestions.

    1. The challenge with this is that not all desktop panels are supported on the web yet. Figuring out what to do in those cases without breaking your desktop layout is one of the challenges. We'll look into it though.
    2. The new notes platform is under active development. It will address this issue. Stay tuned.
    3. Sounds like you want a setting that applies to all panels, rather than just remembering your modification per resource, right? We have a case in for global app settings, where you could set your preferred font size. You could also use browser zooming, which will be remembered across sessions. Does that work in the meantime?

    Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the work on the web app.  I am primarily a Linux user and it is starting to get to the place where I don't need to fire up a VM or boot into Windows to use Logos for many things.

When I return to a session on the web app, while the panel layout is saved the content isn't. I am using Vivaldi more and more as my main browser but I  am having the same issue with Chrome (on which Vivaldi is based).  Clues on this - browser settings or web app?

The other nit I have is navigating lectionaries is a bit awkward.  The forward arrow key on the panel doesn't seem enabled.  The back arrow key doesn't return to the previous day but to the last major season division.  If you show the table of contents it opens up folded and you need to expand the tree.  My preference would be that when you open a lectionary it would open to the entry for the current date or week.  Given that you might not want to code in specific methods for a particular type of book, having contents show in the panel as when you left them and having the panel arrow keys navigate to the previous and next entry rather than seasons would make it much more usable.

    Thanks

Thanks for the feedback, Doug. Can you explain what you mean by "while the panel layout is saved the content isn't"? It might be helpful to see a screenshot from one session and another from the next showing the difference you are mentioning.

    Sure.

For instance my preferred layout right now is a long panel on the left that has the lectionary open in it and two panels on the right the top with two tabs - NRSV and REB.  The bottom has two tabs as well on a text comparison with the Greek NT texts and the other with English bible texts.  The right hand side are all one link set:

It seems that after the browser closes and I return to page only usually the NRSV or REB are the only thing showing.  I have thought it might be that the only thing showing might be the last place I had the cursor but I can't say that for sure - I haven't tested it.

[Update - I just tested it and the only panel with content was the upper right one with NRSV at the last reference I was in.]

    Did that help?

Thanks Doug, that was most helpful. We are looking into it.
