Shortcut Bar Space?

It seems like the spacing between the icons on the shortcut bar are further apart than 7.8b1. Is this intentional? More condensed would be preferred. Not only can you fit more, but smaller space between smaller icons makes more sense from a design standpoint. Thoughts?

I can't comment wrt to Beta 1. Compared with v7.7 on the same screen my shortcut icons occupy the same width but there is less available space for them (about 3 icons). Extra spacing between each menu/system icon and the Command Bar accounts for this.
Personally, the appearance is improved as the menus/icons were squashed on the LHS.

Folders would be really nice to cut down on the clutter of the shortcut bar!

Here are screenshots comparing b1 and b2. Definitely using more space. I agree with Myke that we need folders! Just a simple popover/dropdown!

This was a set of intentional changes to give more space in some areas (left side of the toolbar) and bring the platforms into alignment in others (shortcuts).
User voice is a great place to add or vote for feature ideas. There are a couple of requests for folders in this item but it might be worth adding a specific feature request: https://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-7/suggestions/4293374-allow-users-to-customize-shortcut-bar-icons
